By stronger I mean a number of things like some or all of the below:
- Less likely to make errors of that wing
- More confident being offensive with that wing
- Defend better with that wing
- Have more variety of that wing
- Able to put pressure/force errors from your opponent more from that wing
- If this wing starts to break down, your game drops (relatively).
-In general the wing you are more comfortable with (relatively)

For me my 1HBH is my stronger wing.

I write because until today I have never played anyone with a stronger 1HBH. But today I played this guy with the sweetest 1hander I've seen on a 5.0 and below. His timing on his topspin 1 hander was close to perfect and he generated huge pace. Much bigger than his forehand. We had some nice BH to BH rallies. This guy actually runs around his forehand to hit backhands! Inside-out backhands!!! he dares you to hit to his backhand lol!

Hmmm.....perhaps you played ME!! ;) LOL

My 1HBH is the stronger side and almost never breaks down. My forehand is much more likely to break down. I have much more variety on my backhand and I also defend much better from that side. I'm one of the only people I know of that runs around my forehand to hit my backhand. And, yes, I love hitting my inside-out crosscourt 1HBH's!!! :D

When I was in juniors kids used to pick on my backhand all the time. I was pretty young when I started using a one hander 12 or 13 something like that. It was defintely my weaker side. One day I played this kid and I swear every single freakin shot he hit was to my damned backhand. Every single served he hit to me was to my backhand. So, after that match I went out with my friends and I hit nothing but backhands for months. I even told my coach, lets not worry about forehands for a while. Then I started watching some matches with Stefan Edberg and Ivan Lendl studied how they hit their one hander until my backhand became a weapon. And now my backhand is a force to be reckoned with. I too used to run around my forehands to hit backhands. I still have a few problems with big servers when they serve to my backhand but if you don't have a big serve and you serve to my backhand, do so at your own risk. I remember me and my friend playing a couple of 5.0 women and I played the ad side and literally almost every single shot from my backhand winner. It's taken me some time to get my form back but I think it's pretty darn close to being back.

edberg - can't watch it at work so will check it out later.

my $.02. i'm more confident with the FH however love to hit BHs. also get a good many points with the BH. i think my BH is more versatile as well so not sure on this one.

Sounds like me, I can hit bigger 1hbh than forehands and can even get huge topspin with less effort than on my forehands. My forehand is a little more accurate though.

My forehand is much stronger, BUT my backhand has a lot of potential, and I can generate more power with it. Still learning proper technique, though. I've gotten away with having ONLY a forehand and a serve for a long time. Now I'm filling in the blanks.

Touch shots are better on the backhand side, especially my topspin lob and drop shot.

i recently switched to a 1 hander earlier this year, so it's yet to develop into a weapon and is still a liability in my game. i have no problem pounding my forehand, though

edberg - nice BH but u need a better hitting partner. the vid doesn't show many exchanges so we can't see the BH range of shot making.

apologies - don't mean to bust on ur partner but just not consistent.

Forehand. For whatever reason (probably due to much less repetition than forehand), the timing and movement on backhand side in general can go wrong much easier.
