Don't care about the movies. Love those dresses!!

Now, I've seen a lot of dresses over the years, but I have never seen one like this blue one worn by Anne Hathaway:

What *is* that fabric? I couldn't take my eyes off of it!

She had lots of good ones:

Lo-brown phillistine that I am, didn't catch the Oscars (watched Knicks beat Heat). Normally think "lukewarm/blah" when I see Gwyneth Paltrow, but I caught a glimpse of her last night and thought she rocked it quite nicely in that gold dress--doesn't look like it in this photo but from the side, it kinda had an Egyptian Pharaoh Queen vibe to it:

In front of my computer, obviously
Hailee Steinfeld was perfect from head to toe, wins my best dressed award. Anne's creme colored dress was my second favorite of the whole night and my favorite of hers. Most of the dresses last night were good, but I did not like Melissa Leo's lace thing. Love Helena Bonham Carter, she owns her craziness and rocks it.

Just realized that that is lace on Mila Kunis' chest. Thought it was a tattoo.

I originally thought Leo's lace thing was a jacket. I agree that as a full-length gown it was a bit too Vegas.

It wasn't a good movie year for me. I only saw two of the Best Picture nominees (127 hours and Toy Story) and I had never heard of most of the nominees.

Jennifer Hudson had way way too much makeup on. What is the point of that? It's nice to see her weight loss -- I hope it lasts. She's not out of the woods yet.

    This one?

I just remember that I thought it quite daring to show up with her hair all messed up like she just woke up. Or maybe I am thinking of someone else.

Yes she is my favorite. Haven't seen her acting, but her directed movie Lost in Translation was great. After all, Coppola's genes.

What is the color, BTW? Is it called pink? I am an unartistic kind of guy, cannot appreciate subtle beauty.

From what I gathered, all the nominated movies are excellent as usual. I haven't seen any, but very glad that the King's Speech deservedly won. It hits home with the group with speech impediment and in generally as humanity don't we all have one impediment or another?

When was the last time that oscar nominees were not good movies?

If any, I do not want to see movies like Avatar to be in the spot light.

ps. I love the dresses, too. :)

Bet that dress looks great from the back too. Have a suit with the same type of fabric as Anne Hathaway's blue dress.

I would call that color Cranberry.

OK, let's just do random dresses from the Oscars.

It's quite a pity that a baby threw up on her back:

 The movie was directed by Sofia Copolla, who is Francis Ford Coppola's daughter.
Scarlett Johansson played the main role.

I loved how Natalie Portman so gracefully pulled off the pregnant and sexy look.

And...ummm, yeah, I couldn't help but notice that her boobs look great.
