Well thats a very ambigous question.....How much is "much"? What intensity are these 2000 jump ropes at?

But yes jump rope is an excellent aerobic exercise which will be good in combinantion with a good diet to lose fatmass.

i do ten sets of 100 jumps. about a minute or 2 between each set. take a 5 minute break to down some water then do another ten sets of 100. i dont double pump when i jump. i stay on my toes and just jump. its killer on my legs, but i get my heart goin fast. its an intense workout for me.

It would takes you about 20 minutes to do 2000 jump ropes nonstop.

In my estimation, that would only burn about 150 calories.

If you do it everyday, you would burn 4,500 calories/month.

If everything else (your nutients intake and lifestyle) being equal, IN THEORY, you would burn 1.28 pound of fat / month.
