    Hey J-Man,

My pal Andres is now in NYC and ready to rumble. He is a former DI player, aged 33 years. He hits a screaming forehand and punishes with both his pace/spin and speed of foot. May I pass along your info to him?

    Best,

    Pickle,

Thank you for saving all of us. I was suffering of dehydration and cramps (male menopausal cramps) and wasn't sure if I was up to the task of asking our Lord of hold off on Judgment day until Arnold can recuperate his image and make more movies.

My powers are in decline and I may have to pass unto you the responsiblity for this little blue globe.

What is wrong with cadet? Is he some kind of internet stalker, or is there a weird history I don't know about? He seems to follow JD around and make sad little insults in every thread. It's really odd.

I noticed that as well. Every time there is a jolly post sure enough there is this teenie weenie making small little noises. Its sad and funny at the same time but mostly sad.

Ya when I think dennis I think a big care bear that would give you a hug. So therefore I suspect parents or at least one was a cuddly soft type. :)

Jolly is now Under Domestic Control so he plays with whatever Mrs. Jolly gives him. That's how these things work. One day, Jolly was a carefree, pirate of the seven seas, the next he's taking out trash and wearing his pants way above his navel.

We were going to ascend to heaven but apparently there has been a change in luggage rules. You can only bring a small carry on, something about an Angel strike. Since we couldn't bring our tennis bags we decided to wait until Heaven resolves its labor issues.

According to Topaz, Jolly is a 3.0-3.5 hiding out in the 5.0, unlike her, who spent countless amount of blood, sweat and tears to climb from 3.0 to 3.5.

He would probably beat Jolly 0-1. I see that he has two arms and two legs without any bandages, wraps, braces and that he's not wearing adult diapers so he should have no problems against Jolly.

The 5.0 Men's league on Long Island is weak, one of the teams went to Nationals but they fared badly. Losers.

what's "weight transfer"? is it like when you're carrying a heavy bag with one hand and when your arm gets tired you transfer the weight to the other hand? lol

no, but seriously what is it? dennis?

Uhmmm..if he is who I think he is, he got crushed...but I could very well be wrong. If correct, I'd love to hear his account of this match because I have seen his videos and he is a pretty good player with a big serve and nice touch at net.

Ok good. I forgot his name and though he got double bagled in the first - by a guy who then lost in 2 breadsticks in the 2nd.

And by doing that, I forgot the first rule - Believe. Believe in Jo11y.

he just mentioned he was playing it. Guess not. What about his videos got a link? I like to see rally videos from our members. It's fun to watch. Especially from such a distinguished top Open level player.

    Hey Devilito,

Sorry, I'm not sure where Jolly's videos are now posted. At one point in time he had several up.

If I recall correctly you are a very good player (you posted videos about your comeback to tennis, right? Maybe a year or two ago?) and live in the NY/NJ area. Maybe you guys could get together and hit? Jolly's pirating operation operates out of the East River, I am told. ;)

Yeah I came back and quit again and came back again. Now it’s pretty much playing just for fun. One of the biggest factors in high level tennis is footwork and that takes youth and / or tons of off-court work. It’s not fun and it’s not something I want to be doing again. Been there, done that. I’m just happy getting out there now and bashing the ball. I’m still serious about tennis but there is no way I can play like I did when I was 20 again. On another note. I’m in an another country from you guys so unless Jollyroger is coming to Calgary this weekend for the $15,000 open we’re having I doubt I’ll be hitting with him. Wish Tony would come as lots of players he played in Vancouver are playing and I could hit with him and get a video of that which I’m sure people will enjoy but he hasn’t really expressed any interest in it.

Devil, Just play 30 and up tournies...makes life easier because I agree with you on the footwork thing. It really is the key because the great players can not only chase down tough balls but return them with weight, and that takes serious practice.

Jolly had videos on Vimeo and they were posted in his sig. He is not an top open level player, but loooks pretty good and is just a tennis junkie like the rest of us.

    Jolly is all of us.

So jolly is now losing matches he never played?

This place is awesome. He also lost in the French Open as well. He was trying so hard and was on his way to the tourny but got distracted by a pretty french girl with a bottle of wine and never made it to the tourny.

TonLars is a great guy and fantastic player. I had the pleasure of hitting with him last spring when I traveled to Minneapolis to conduct a lecture. I hope to see him again and have a hit when he travels this way next month for the big tournament in Chattanooga, TN. Best regards, BHBH

I wasn’t asking about his videos to rate him or to call him out. I was genuinely interested to see him play. Same with you and a bunch of other regular posters. And yeah the big thing with footwork for me is getting set up for shots and recovering properly during a point. Most errors come from not being in position to hit the ball you want to hit. Not only that but being quick will allow you to hit over your backhand aggressively instead of stretching out wide for a slice shot etc. I mean, you know all this but it makes all the difference. Anyone can hit hard back and forth and look like a pro. It’s when the game starts and you’re trying to hit those same shots running side to side that counts.

Proper weight transfer occurs when I ultilize the roll of fat around my core. As I start my forward swing, I snap my hips, thus causing the spare tires too jiggle in the precise frequency causing gravitational waves which distort the shape of my opponents eye balls, making it difficult for them to track my shots.

No it doesn’t make sense because I don’t know if he posted his real name or not like Tony Larson has for example. What, you want me to read through all of Jolly’s 10,000 posts? No thanks. If he hasn’t then he hasn’t. No big deal, I was just curious.

Hint: People who want everyone to know their real name, incorporate their names in their username. If they have something else, it means they wish to remain somewhat anonymous.

So, Jolly's real name is not Jolly Roger.

He has posted his name and record etc-- as a courtesy we don't disclose. Vids are on vimeo somewhere. I'm sure someone will come up with a link. Hopefully one of these weekends, we'll take some new vids of a few of the players on the boards

is that a new rule of the internet or something you just made up because you can't let it go and feel like arguing

Courtesy to not disclose what has already been disclosed. Is that even logical? Bottom line is I don’t care but you guys are arguing just for the sake of arguing now. I asked innocently out of curiosity and you guys just jumped on it like a white knight
