I want to buy an older Fischer stick in the near future. I have heard about the Vacuum Pro, and was wondering how it played. Any other good discontinued Fischer frames? Anyone have any pics of the Vacuum Pro? Anyone know wher eI can buy one?

You can buy the Vacuum Pro from the Bosworth collection I think. Well, it was a vacuum something........

is that the 90 or the 98 freckles? Anyone ever hit with the 98?

That would be a 98. I hit with the strings on it but it was strung wayyy too high. With the Vacuum Pro you have a window of like 3 pounds tension (I think 53 to 55 pounds). Anything higher than that and it will feel like a board. However if you're spot on with the tension the feel is awesome.

The vacuum pro 90 (Stich, Leconte, Skoff etc) was their best frame, try & get the made in Austria models as that's when they were real Vacuums not just called that.

the Michael Stich model is THE ONLY FRAME this co. made that was any good.

DOH. Get lost mate, Fischer makes great frames to this day. They had their share of "hit and miss" models but they are AT LEAST as good as any other company that makes rackets on any given day. By the way, their "latest" the M-Speed is a very nice frame as well. Just go "play with your babolat" and stop pretending like you know something/everything about rackets.
Borat, I will post pictures of the Vacuum Pro 90 (Stich) and the Pro No 1 (the two models of Fischer I own currently). But if you search for one of the "picture threads" there are loads of Fischer frames posted...old and new.
To answer your questions, I never played with the 98 Vacuum Pro Classic, just the 90. The difference between the Classic and the VT 98 was the mold/beam width. The classic had a constant beam (19 for the 90 and 21 for the 98 ) and the VT 98 is the model before the Pro no. 1 (with variable beam...thinner throat and wider head...just like the current M-Speed).

early-mid 1990's Fischers with Vacuum Technic construction are BY FAR, the best-feeling racquets ever made. And yes, they had a narrow tension range between like 53-58 pounds in which impact feel was just sublime.

VT98 Pro had 25-23-21mm tapered beam

Vacuum Pro and Vacuum Pro Classic are constant beams

I have a VT98 Pro FS in classified BTW
