About a week ago, I hit my knee hard with the buttcap of my racket and I got a bruise on the right side of my knee. It has been hurting since everytime I bend my knees. I've been icing it and using pain relievers but it still hurts. Any info or advice on how to heal this fast?

I did exactly that myself with a ohb drive. My knee hurt going up and down stairs for a few days afterwards. So I went to the Ortho Doc and he took xrays and did an MRI. Sadly to say I had to undergo microfracture surgery for two small pieces of cartlidge that I had chipped off the femur bone. I was on crutches for 2 months and couldnt play tennis for One year. It is now 15 months later and I still cant do a one legged squat on the injured leg.

Go check it out I hope it is not a full fibrous cartilidge defect on a weight bearing part of your leg.

Keep icing it and let it rest. If bending hurts then don't bend. That doctor joke is true. Doc, it hurts when I do this. Doc says, well don't do that.

Wow I'm really sorry to hear that. I think yours is more serious than mine. I believe that after a few days my knee has improved a lot. I can barely feel it now. I played three matches in the past two days and I felt no pain and I didn't even have to take ibuprohen. I was surprised actually. Icing did help a lot but also not playing for a couple days. I was just really scared that it was a lot more serious and that I needed to see the doctor. Thank God that I am better now.
