Inside of elbow pain and cardio question????????

    I have a pain on the inside of my elbow after hitting hard for 15 minutes. Is this tennis elbow? What is the cause of this and how can it be treated?

    Secondly, is there a way in which you can get fitter without losing weight as i have a lean atheltic frame with little fat to burn off.

    search golfers elbow,, caloric intake to match expended calories will help you not lose weight

    Chris,
    I used to have the same problem with pain in the inside of the elbow-- golfer's elbow. The following cured the problem:

    1. Rest it for a few weeks if the pain is fairly significant (more may be needed).
    2. When warming up before hitting, leave your racquet cover on and swing your racquet with the cover on back and forth 25 - 50 times (I usually do 20 - 30 then warm up legs, etc and then do another 20 - 30). This really warms up the elbow well before hitting. It cured this problem for me over a decade ago.

    The racquet type (a more flexible racquet should help) and string type (soft multi like NRG2, etc) also effect elbow and shoulder health.

    I used to have Golfer's elbow (pain and stiffness on the opposite side of the elbow) too when I was stringing in the 60-65 lbs. range, strung with Luxilons. Now that my rackets are 50-55lbs., I no-longer have it. I think tension-of-strings matters more than type-of-string: I used polys during my golfer's elbow and now after as well. Try lower tension!
