I have seen 3 of the 4, didn't see James Jensen video. I like the Oscar Wenger series.

Personally I would subscribe to one of the online tennis instruction sites before I would ever buy a DVD again. For basically the same price you get 100X more material and video for one year. You will use those sites way more in that one year than you will look at the DVDs. I bought some of the Jensen and Avery videos when I first started out. I viewed them a couple times and never looked at them again. They are definitely aimed at 3.0-3.5 players. There is way more detail at the online instruction sites and all facets of the game are covered.

revolutionarytennis.com- this one is free but somewhat controversial and limited in scope compared to the others IMO
There are some others but I haven't checked them out.

May I ask, your level?
I see tennisplayer.net is created by John Yandell, the writer of Visual Tennis. I have one question. Can you download the videos that you see online ? I have been using real player to download youtube videos

I don't really know. I can't give you a number like the NSTC number or what ever number you call it. But I can describe my background. I have been playing for about two years. I used to play table tennis competitively for my high school so there is a bit of a transfer over of skills

Many 'hitting basics' are same, and yet are not completely the same. For instances, Jack Nicklaus (the golf legend) is a very good tennis player. Also, I know a good badminton player reached tennis 5.0 in two years; a college volley ball player reached tennis 5.0 in two years too.
However, some table tennis 'habits' are not suitable for tennis. I would suggest that you pay attention to the wrist and elbow.

You can download and edit videos for personal use with QuickTime Pro. Which runs about $30 I think.

I was also searching for an instruction DVD, but one that deals primarily with serves.
Has anyone had any personal experience with a dvd, that they would recommend? Or would you go with subscription instructional sites instead? and if so which site would you say is at the top? Many Thanks

Will explains the strokes very clearly and uses slow motion videos to demonstrate the key points. His first videos were aimed at beginners (or people like me who have played for a long time with some very bad habits) but the more recent videos discuss advanced topics.

yandel's website tennisplayer.net is much better than the book. i found the photos in the book somewhat posed looking . the website has incredible articles and real life videos of the pros. also highly reccommend virtualtennisacademy.com by heath and lindsay waters. again great articles and video instruction. heath is alittle dogmatic in his ACE system but he is very knowledgeable and bases all his comments from video analysis of what the pros do. hope this helps
BTW, does that site allow videos downloading? If yes, how?

The answer to how to download depends on the browser you are using. With MS Internet Explorer or Firefox 2.0, realplayer has an add-in that lets you download the file. Open realplayer, choose tools, preferences and "downloads and recording". Then choose "enable web downloading and recording".
After enabling this way, when you play the video, a button will appear enabling you to download the file. Realplayer also lets you watch the .flv file or you can find a tool to convert to another format.
Unfortunately, the tool is not compatible with Firefox 3.0. In time I am sure Realplayer will update their tool, but for now you have to to to MS or back to version 2 of Firefox.
