Does it show good sportsmanship? Is it keeping alive a tradition? Do any of you jump over the net after the match to shake hands with your opponent?

I wish I could jump over the net, or at least test the possibility on a grass or clay court.

I think it should only be done if you are wearing a head band or if you are in the habit of high-fiving the linesman when you hit a winner. Otherwise a gentlemanly stepping over the net, protecting the jewels, is preferable.

At my local courts (free to public) i saw two guys playing some games then one tried to jump the net, got his leg clipped and permanently lowered the net by about 5 inches, now its just really low and not fixable
