    Just as the title says.
I found some paint chipping on my racquet.
Is this evidence of a cracked racquet?
I only see some paint chipping, but I'm worried.
This is the best picture I could take so yeah.
(It probably happened after I slipped on some ice and landed on my tennis bag...)

    That looks cracked to me.
Paint chipping like that is usually the result of a crack.

My guess would be that it is cracked.

That frame is broken without a doubt. If you purchased this racquet with TW within the last year it will still be under warranty. If it was not purchased through TW you may still be able to redeem the manufacturers warranty, I would suggest contacting Prince. Jesse/TW

It's definitely cracked. Contact Prince...you've got nothing to lose and a racquet to gain. They're very good about replacing racquets and long as abuse isn't obvious (and sometimes if it is).

.. i have a scratch on my first NXG frame in the same spot. but i've checked the frame, the structural integrity is perfect..i think it happened while getting strung at the club back in the day.

Hmmm, is that the real story or the one you've made up to tell your parents? ;)

Oh yeah. Classic grommet hole crack.

If its less than a year old and you have the original purchase receipt, Prince will replace it as long as it was not caused by an intentional action on your part. They are really good about replacing frames under warranty.

The falling/dropping of the bag is the only thing I could think of.
I've never smashed the racquet so I have no idea how it happened =/
Btw airdupont, I've never had a racquet break so I wanted to know if this was a crack.
This is a forum so I will ask such questions.

Def. cracked. You can tap it on a solid surface (lightly) and you'll feel and hear the break.

Even if you don't have receipt... write a note and have your local tennis shop send it to Prince for you requesting a replacement. Chances are, if it is sent from an authorized Prince retailer they will replace it for you as long as there doesn't appear to be breakage from misuse.

    Good Luck

The bumper guard isn't too worn, the side opposite the crack is more worn that the part on the cracked side.
My coach and a teaching pro said it doesn't look like misuse.
(Other than the crack being at the top)

Well I just read the reviews for the Speedport Black, and apparently some other people have experienced cracking of the frame near the top. They cited offcenter shots.
