Lol I actually read "If Djokovic gets to #18 I'll think about it". It made sense since you were "a bit of a glory hunter" before. :D

I think peak Fed dominates the field a bit more. I'd fancy peak Fed to beat peak Nole anywhere. But peak Nole is way more of a rival to peak Rafa.

    IMO, peak Fed wins it

Out of interest mate, how many slams do you think a player would need to win to surpass Laver as outright GOAT? :)

That is all fine and dandy. But that was a lame attempt at earning some brownie points from the other fan base.

    20 majors, 7 YE #1 rankings, top 10 until 35 y.o. are required.

One does not simply beat Laver's awesome records.
Federer came close, if only he hadn't choked several majors away. (But even if he had 20 majors and everything else as it is now, I'd say he would be equal to Laver and would have to beat him in longevity to edge ahead. Laver isn't Rosewall though, his last top season was 1975 when he turned 37.)

Peak Fed ? When was this. Considering his SF and QF streak I am tryign hard to recall. I can only remember Stakhovsky at WO in 2013 -- but you said not at WO and 2013 is past peak. Then there is Keurten in 2004, and maybe a few more prior to that, but memory is vague. Horna 2002, Ancic 2002 ?

Is Federer still Peak Fed :D ;)

I wouldn't strap on ur life vest just yet. Prob don't even need to put in your finest dinner jacket. 18, even 17, is years away if ever.

Seems a bit much. I view Fed and Laver as GOATS from different eras. Much easier than the impossible comparison. It's a lot like Jordan and Bill Russell.

In topic - Fed/Djoker - we're never gonna really know. The age gap is too big to even use 2010-2012 to fairly judge. They're both amazing in totally different ways. You'll be happier just appreciating each for what they brought to the table at their peaks.

Heck even now I enjoy watching old Fed battle these young kids.

Tennis has evolved since Federer peaked such that Djokovic's game looks more contemporary with its emphasis on defence whereas Federer's peak attacking game looks risky and slightly out-dated..
