Guy has a huge success, tons of money probably since dumb people from 'Murrica buy his music and clothing...
But what is he actually famous for?
Neptunes? His impact on hip hop culture? To me he's maybe a little overrated.
Just like jay z I guess.

Whats the point of this thread? People like what they like, it doesn't make anyone dumb unless you are a judgmental fool.

Pharrell is a very good producer who made a lot of hit songs. He broke in with the NERD records and many artists paid him lots of coin to produce for them.

He just did tracks with Daft Punk..not american..not dumb.

    Explain that to us.

He's a good producer. He's okay as an artist - IMHO.

Don't like him, don't buy his stuff.

No one really cares though. Work on your spelling and grammar as well if possible.

    Thanks.

The thing with Pharell is kinda gets a lieftime pass for producing Rump Shaker.

But he is what he is. He produces hit pop type records and is track record speaks for it self.

Although I do like Swagger International for some reason.

Clipse Lord Willin' is one of the best hip hop records ever made. Produced by the Neptunes.
The first NERD album was a total banger. Perhaps it's not for you but the guy is a great musician and a global style icon. Big companies pay him to advise them on luxury brands.

    No ears?
    Now who's judgmental?
I'm just saying he's maybe just a little overrated. It's all about hype and everything he produces is magically acclaimed by the masses.

I think Pahrell got into the business not to put out cultrally significantinfluential records. but to actually sell them and make money.

Being magically acclaimed by the masses means he is doing this better than most.

Once again he is not producing RumpShaker, and Britney spears songs to make an impact on someones life.

Considering your hip-hop post, this is not surprising.

Yes Pharrell helped ghost write some verses on that song at a pretty young age.

    Teddy Riley :)

It's funny how a good hook can be so silly and yet still memorable after 20 years.
