This guy is getting bigger and bigger everytime I see him play. Is he doing it on purpose? wouldn't this slow him down and cut down his stamina?

What you see from Roddick is actually not bulking up at all. It is the end result of an ancient art he practices called "pimpjitsu". Once he reaches the state of ultimate zen, then he will no doubt be getting ALL the hizoes.

Most players do some kinda of light weight training, but Roddick is probably just naturally maturing and not purposefulyl bulking up since it does affect mobility.Technique is a much bigger factor than muscularity in tennis, but in the pro's they have the technique and maybe a little muscle isn't bad.I actually don't think he's over bulking to the point where it's affecting anything yet, but time will tell.

I saw an interview where Gilbert said he wanted Roddick to be ripped. Whether this includes bulking up, who knows.

He has a personal trainer working with him now... which probably means bye bye pizza, hello tofu. His shoulders are definitely bigger.
His ATP numbers from last year were already impressive though. The guy is pretty tall and heavy. Those Reebok shirts and shorts are not very flattering I guess.

On a different note, I was surprised to see how his dad is built... He was in the box at Houston the other day. Roddick is his spitting image without the barrell chest and neck. Yet.

Obviously he has to be taking steroids. Any player in any sport who is really good and gets bigger has to be on steroids.

He is definitly matureing. A male doesn't stop growing till their about 27 give or take. Look at Moya, he's ripped.
Aggassi said it in a mens health interview. He said the game is changing and within the next ten years you wont be able to recognise pro tennis players. Theres a lot more focus on stregnth.
Pros do have technique, thats what keeps the ball on the court. But to hit a heavy ball you need strength. Look at Coria, little guy, gets the ball back but he doesn't hit that heavy of a ball and rarely pushs opponents off the court like an Agassi. So imagine Coria being fast and powerful...he would very tough to beat.

He would still be short. And that mean bye bye cheap points. I wonder why the name of Coria was brought up in the same thread as Nandrolone... Hmm...

David I agree with about still being short, I was just trying to make a point. If anyone thinks height doesn't matter just talk to Michael Chang...they will win there share of tournys but have to bust their ass doing it

Seems to me like his body is just finally maturing from teenager to man.

Exactly ! If you have seen his father you would think that to be the case.
