Purists do not consider it as a player's racquet because it is too powerful.

What is a Tennis Purist? Someone who thinks the pros should go back to Wooden frames?

In some ways, it is a player's racket

    Heavy
    High swingweight
    Stable

    All that other stuff

But also, it might not be, because of the incredible power it gives

So...I guess its a players racket for people with short swings, and/or maybe can't generate their own power? Need a little help?

Since it's used by tennis players, then yes it's a "players' racquet".

No, it falls into the category of tweeners but who cares, it's just a categorical label. It doesn't mean high level players can't use it.

Agree with this. I'd add also though that, certainly as regards pros (and this is born out by a recent thread I posted regarding the subject), there are seemingly very few at all who use the frame. In fact some might even argue NONE actually really use the PDR - and that includes the person for whom the racket is named: Andy Roddick himself!

it is a players racquet cause it's used by a player: Roddick. i still call it tweener cause you can get away with a short swing, and bad technique, pending any previous arm injuries and sensitivities.

Many consider it to be a "piece" racquet.

I'd say no because of the high power. But, it still has decent control w/ the right strings.

I'm sure all the ATP/WTA player using Pure Drives care if Pure Drives in general are considered player racquets. . . It does not matter.
