or that understands how the level system works there? I have a friend, hes pretty good, but when I asked him what level he was, he said there were no levels in Brazil, he said he was first class, or something like that, anyone know what that means?

i´m brazilian so i can help
    tournaments here a like this:
we have 1st class- the best players around.. some tournaments pay really well, so you see some atp ranked players on it...
and 5th class, who are begginers that just started playing tennis... so there´s nothing reaaly good. and most people fall between those classes.. looking at the NTRP skill levels, i would say i´m a 4.0 and play 2nd and 3rd classes..
    any more questions?

I just wish I could figure out how it works in Canada. I'm going to head down to a Men's A Singles tournament which is the highest rank in my province run by the OTA (Ontario Tennis Association) to see what the skill level is like. Not sure if A-D is a proper ranking or if Canada actually has some substantial ranking system.

    HAHAHAHA, nice one.

As far as I know in Canada it's mostly the US NTRP system of 1.0 - 7.0. The tounry at my neighbourhood courts are from A to C. A is around 4.5-5.5, B is 3.5-4.0 and C is lower.
