Well it was...now it depends on day-to-day form. Personally I love how he used his old run-around inside-in forehand very aggressively at Wimbledon this year. That shot helped his variety and was a factor in some big points against Murray/Djokovic.

he used to run around and hit that big fh inside in. but now when he does it he hits it way shorter playing percentages. i miss the old federer where he would just turn it on in split second and let a winner fly

he's moving right to left in mid-air while the trajectory he's hitting the ball is left to right....speechless

I was just saying a couple days back how this was probably the greatest shot he's ever hit, even if it didn't draw him a match point or win him a tournament. Just the sheer beauty of the shot and how none could have placed it better at that speed.

ANY winner is the best shot in tennis. Every single one of them wins exactly one point. Which as it turns out, is exactly what is lost by the most pathetic unforced error.

I love the inside-ins from Fed more, simply because it's more risky plus when it's successful it's got this nice rounded topspin curve that joins bounces away from the opponent, and it feels like an invincible shot when it works. More elegant than the flat inside-out FH.
