Anytime we see a 19 year old going deep in slams and playing like Federer on qualuudes I think it behooves the TT community to discover the truth about his setup.
    Thats just my opinion.

His setup would change alot during the years to come. He probably hasn't even found anything close to his holy grail.

If his using gut mains/poly crosses I think he is following the federer path with different strings. =D.

Just needa wait for more confirmation.

    umm, why do you care?

not joking, genuinely curious. I mean, unless you are also 6'5", ranked in the ATP top 40 and play with a pretty much unique FH, what relevance could it possibly have?

The fate of the free world, the modern game and the brotherhood of man hinges on TT members discovering Tomics true setup. Dont be naive.

Federer contemplates the Yonex fail. Is that a 95 or a 98 Stan??? You call that a return?

I submit that it is the greatest movie soundtrack. A close second, for me, is Almost Famous.

I spoke to a TW play tester and he tells me the 95 is more suited for one handed backhands and is faster through the air, more aerodynamic than the 98. Any thoughts?

Yes very true. The 98 is a little blobby.

Just based on pics. The 98 is a little more square looking. In some pics it looks 95, some 98. Hard to tell. Bernies rac may look smaller bc he is 6 foot 5.

If Wawrinka or Tomic are using the 95, why would Yonex or TW say its a 98?

So, Wawrinka should be using the 95 according to this theory, no? Theories, theories, theories. LOL

I demoed both, for my 1hbh the 95 was more natural feeling, with more plow thru and better aerodynamics.
The 98 feels clunkier. I am sure wawrinka could crush his one hander with any racquet though.

Wawrinka should use whichever one he likes best. I think the 95 is more similar to his old prestige though.

Does the 95 suit a topspin type of game? They say the 100 is better for this but its too light and I dont like to use lead.

I do not have trouble getting spin with the 95 but where it really shines is fast flat balls and slices. You can search the racquets section for more feedback.
The 95 is similar to a prestige mp with a power boost and a square grip.

As for the roundness and isometricness. They might be stringing at different tensions. Jet method or w/e might bring the corners down to abit rounder.

I wonder if this whole 'yonex is for girls' thing is a US based phenomenon?

I have had lots of reactions since switching to V-Core 95Ds, but they have all been positive and usually along the lines of "oooh, is that the Hewitt one or the Tomic one??"
(invariably followed by requests for a hit!)

There is no perception of them being 'a girl's brand' at all.

I think it may be.. Your lot have had the positive Hewitt influence marketing wise and now Tomic.

I like the Yonnies and have never seen them as a chick stick, that's what Princes are

It is a marketing fail. If they had Blake or Roddick or someone like that they wouldnt have this problem. Just bad marketing. Hot chicks that cant serve. I want to pull my hair out when I see Ivanovic tossing her serve into the doubles alley.

Stan was a good pickup for them. A manly man who wears short shorts and has a real backhand.

Anyway, the 95d is such a good racquet I have overcome my immature yonex fear.
