Sharapova will have to play better than she has been playing. If they both stay on current form, Ivanovic will win the match. It should be a good one. Their previous matches were very close.

I would like Ivanovic to win, but she will have to withstand Shara's mental tenacity.

Ivanovic in 2, though I hope for 3.

Ivanovic has momentum, she's played more matches in the past months, she's serving wonderfully, and she's fond of clay. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Sharapova is injured, still has the double-fault monster on her back, and seems a tad rusty (although, of course, as mentally tenacious as ever).

Their head-to-head of 1-1 doesn't tell the whole story of their record. They played this spring and ana was ahead, but Sharapova had to retire because of injury. So assuming they had finished the match as it was going, Ana would be the favorite based on recent play.

I think Ivanovic will definitely win, but I hope it's close. Blow-outs are only good at the hair salonl

I don't know who will win. I'm leaning towards Ana alittle bit because I think she feels alittle more confortable on clay. But I think it won't matter to much because both players will play it like a hard court match. I'll take Ana 3 tough sets

Sharapova, she is mentally stronger. It will not matter if Ana is more comfortable on clay, Maria knows how to close a match. She has been there and done that, Ana is just beginning. This is Anas first slam semi-final.

I agree. I think Sharapova's experience and big match savvy will have her going for Ana's jugular from the first point. I'm not hyped about this side of the draw at all. I hope whoever wins get whupped by the J-Girls!

I'm for Ivanovic, as I really hate Sharapova, and all grunters in general.

Sharapova needs to hit the balls to Ivanovic backhand, because Ivanovic's forehand is scary, even a better mover on clay court like Svetlana was unable to return them well when the ball fired from Ivanovic's forehand.
Hope Ivanovic will not intimidate by sharapova's grunt too.

    Good luck for both

Lol. Funniest part of the match was Mary Carillo's commentary...

She was talking about how Maria doesn't believe herself and how hopeless she was...Just like the Australian Open finals against Serena and the Maimi finals...

WAIT...She wasn't in the finals LMAO. She got owned in one of the first rounds. God, what would ESPN do without Carillo...Probably be the best channel on television.
