Oh Dimitrov is GOATing so hard, that point was amazing haha. the improvisation to do that and then get to the next ball was brilliant!

yeah - pure brilliance. Didn't get to see the first couple of points (where he was apparently goating as well? I got in at 15-40 in the first game).

Dimitrov really has a knack for the incredible. In the last game of his last match, he followed an incredible get with a running volley passing shot winner. He seems to win great points in almost every match.

Did Dimi break in the first game to 15 or to 30? I recall he lost one BP, but the stats just showed 1 of 1 (now 2 of 2).

Dimitrov to serve for the set, He's playing really well. Im cautious about getting too hyped after last year but he does seem to of improved alot and doesnt look at all phased by Gulbis. Iv called him out on choking at this stage of matches recently so lets see if he can see this set out here.

Dimitrov's serve is the most improved part of his game, aside from maybe his fitness. Free points are crucial for the attacking player, especially in terms of keeping confidence up and nerves down. Great first set for Grigor, but I have a feeling that Gulbis got out of bed pretty late today.

Dimitrov has been as clutch as you could want him to be in Acapulco, winning 5 tie breaks in three matches, some of them very close. So he is definitely improved in that department as well.

Also, really flawless set from Dimitrov. Gulbis definitely need to raise his game if he wants to keep this competitive.

Fantastic service stats for Grigor. It's no wonder he took that first set with that score!

Hahaha Gulbis BP tactic there went something like this:

Play to BH BH BH BH BH BH BH BH FH winner.

These two are really fun to watch, i really hope they become the next generations #1 and #2. This is great tennis.

Yup. We're going to 3. Dimitrov has dropped a gear and Gulbis has stepped it up. 5-1 now.

I never really watched Gulbis before he changed his forehand motion, but I thought he was known for his good forehand back then. But right now, I don't find his forehand that good tbh. It looks like the complicated motion is giving him issues with his timing. His backhand is great though. I just can't help but wonder if he maybe never should've changed that forehand motion. If his forehand was just as good as his backhand he would be so dangerous from the baseline.
