can the ipod touch be destroyed in anyway by jailbreaking it? i heard if it freezes or you want it back to new you just restore, and also the void in warranty will never happene cause you restore, am i wrong? what are the negatives for jailbreaking the pod?

I've jailbroken an iPod Touch 1G, iPhone, and iPhone 3G and it's all worked out fine.

This works on Mac OS X and Windows

    Jailbroken my iPod Touch 1g.

For 3.1.3, you might need to use Spirit.

And there is no problem that comes with jailbreak. But if the worst happens, you can just restore.

I just bought an older iPhone 3G so that I could jailbreak/unlock it for my phone provider (the newest ones can't be unlocked).

Jailbreaking is so worth it, you can do much more with your ipod that way. If anything doesn't work just put it into restore mode, plug it into itunes, restore, and try again with another method. Blackra1n and Spirit seem like the best options.
