I just bought and watched the James Jensen "Ultimate Backhand" DVD. So far I'm really impressed how he clearly explains every imaginable aspect and simplifies the process.

I'm thinking about investing in the entire series. Before I do, are there any opinions here of his teaching style?

I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. The whole series is similar, my g/f and i have most.

John, thanks for confirming this. I've been tempted a few times to take my laptop with the DVD in it to the ball machine to refresh my memory while I'm practicing.

At $50 a pop, the series isn't cheap, but you can find one or two used at Amazon, and I'm sure you couldn't have a more complete reference on tennis technique than owning the set.

Have you found the instruction translated into improving your game?

Agreed, a very handy set of dvd's. He seems to hit a fair ball too, he really nails some in the forehand dvd.
