It's now or never for Ferrer to finally win a big event.

For Janowicz, well, it would be just the continuance of his dream run. He's probably over the moon with his appearance in the final.

Not sure how this one is going to go. You would have to think Ferrer will probably win it, but you never know.

Despite how much Janowicz impressed me this tourney (especially with his movement, variety and shot selection) I feel the occasion will get to him a bit and his body probably isn't used to playing this much tennis against some elite opposition and Ferrer will be really hungry to win his first masters title that has eluded him for so long so Ferrer in straights for me.

Hmmmm, ever since Murray lost I knew Ferrer had a good shot at the title, and I think he deserves one given his consistency on the tour. But then I finally had a proper look at Jerzy's game today and it was pretty impressive, I liked his a game a lot. So now I'm torn between the two. I think JJ will give Ferrer a heartbreaker...

Why? He's still very young and beat Murray! Ferrer lost to Murray in Shanghai finals 2011...

The ocassion did not get to Jano in the semis. 5000 Frenchies against him, a chance to be in the final.

So many comeback wins....I won't be suprised if Jano fight CP to win.

Final is very different than SF, come one, you know that. I guess the fact that he's the underdog could help him though we'll see.

Ferru in three. The first set JJ will win in a tiebreaker. Ferru figures him out to win the second at 6-3, with JJ going down early in the third but trying insanely to come back, still losing 6-4.

Yeah I know what you mean....but I felt that he should have been gunned down today. Makes it seem he is blind to what was going on.

Sorta like Safin who did not care what was going on during the US Open final. Just played....only after did he feel the moment and the eyes of others marking him.

Tommorow....will be fun to see if Jano feels this pressure or will he just go play blind to the stakes.

I'm rooting for Janowicz, so I voted for him in two. Ferrer probably has the advantage, but you'd be a fool to count Janowicz out.

biggest question is whether JJ is still somehow physically fit to play another match properly. i don't worry about his mental ability to finish a final.
if he's fit he'll be able to outmaneuver Ferrer.

And more specifically, first time since 2007 that neither Tsonga nor Monfils have been in the final.

It is only the second time that a Spaniard has made the final and the first time for a Pole and for a qualifier!

Ferret will obviously follow the other top players and tank. he's done a great job at playing "tank chicken" basically getting as close to winning before tanking. Murray did well with his "missed" match point (good try but we've seen it twice in recent times so a bit obvious there Andy) Novak went for the bagel and a break option but the ferret has made it all the way to the final in the classic "can the unlucky fighter finally get a masters after years of trying when he's old and no one is in his way?.. No he can't"

Joking aside i think he will blow his chance to tank and win in 3.

Good points! Wasn't Andrei Pavel a qualifier back in 2003 when he reached the final and lost to Henman?

Weird final. So totally unexpected (as is often the case in Paris). If Janowicz won it, it would be quite extraordinary. When was the last time a guy ranked outside of the top 50 won a master? I must be a while...

Not sure. Marcus Buckland, the Sky Sports interviewer, seemed to think so when he told Janowicz he was the first Masters finalist qualifier since Pavel at Paris '03 but when I checked the relevant Wiki entry it didn't indicate he was a qualifier although he was definitely unseeded. So I'm not sure's who's right!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_BNP_Paribas_Masters_–_Singles

Incidentally 2003 Paris was actually the 2nd Masters final Pavel played unseeded. He had already played the 2001 Montreal final unseeded and won (beat Rafter)!

If not Havel, I think the last qualifier to make a Masters final may have been Harel Levy at 2000 Toronto (lost to Safin).

You gotta think that after the week he's had, he's gonna be the sentimental favourite and the French crowd will get behind him.

That being said, Ferrer is a fabulous defender, the guy is an absolute bulldog on the court and will fight for every point. Jerzy has to bring his quick strike tennis and not let up for potentially 3 sets, play aggressive and keep going after Ferrer with that forehand.

I think Ferrer wins it in 3 though, should be an interesting match up.

Raonic has beat Ferrer and JJ is a force to be reckoned with in Paris. I would like Ferrer to win, but JJ has a good chance of winning this tournament and leaping ahead in the rankings. Looking forward ot an exciting final.

Who wins ... for me either way it will be a great winner. On the one hand ferrer deserves a 1000 title. He is really unlucky to be in an era where the top 4 really dominating tennis in some style. So it will be a one chance only, given his age!
On the other hand, if JJ wins, it will be some kind of a sensation and the guy deserves it. I love how he gets emotional after winning, even in the interviews.

I really looking forward to tomorrow!

I would love to see Janowicz winning tomorrow but I think Ferrer is too solid and relentless, and experienced (it will be his fourth M-1000 final).

This year Ferrer has got to the QF stage (or better) at 16 different tournaments, winning 6 of those tournaments, and losing (in QF or SF or Final) of the other 9 always against one of the top-4 except one time (Kuala Lumpur) where he lost to Beneteau in the SF.

So this year Ferrer has actually been almost imposible to defeat by non-top-4 players in later rounds of tournaments.

He is extremely solid against player outside the top-4.

Rooting for Lord Farquaad to win his first Masters 1000 tourney. He has worked for years to win one of these and a kid comes along and can win one in his first try. No fair...I do like the Jerzy boy though...great week from him, but he has played too much tennis and I am not sure if he is used to that at this level. Plus the moment might effect his game a bit. It is a final after all. I hope he plays well, but my heart is with Ferrer.

Though either story would be great and I wouldn't mind either guy winning, gotta say I'm rooting for Ferrer on this one. A masters final against an unseeded player, it's now or never, David.
