Happy to see Ferrer with this big win. I hope this is the start of good things for Janowicz; he made this tournament a lot of fun for me.

Only one more tournament to go before the boring string of exhibition tournaments is finally over.

Janowicz already has better fans than fed and nadal:D. that place was packed with polish guys. Polish fans are the most crazy in the world. when polish heros like adam malysz or thomasz adamek compete 10 thousands of enthusiastic polish fans will show up and rock that place.

Congratz to Ferrer. He had to battle hard in many of the MS finals and Semis. Today it all came together.

It was even impressive that Jerzy had bp and was pushing Ferrer at times. Maybe not as explosive in the semifinals. At least if he plays well he may win one of these one day.

With the greatest triumph of his career, I would not be surprised if David is not exactly best mentally prepared in London and lost all three matches...

I don't know, Tipsy has played very well last year in London, and their QF in New York was very tight...

Ferrer is finally entering his prime at 30 years of age :) So happy for him winning his first M1000 title.
Most would say that playing the finals here effectively ruins his chances at the WTF, but I'd like to think this will make him super motivated to do well there.

Valecia 500, Paris 1000, could be a force in WTF 1500. Maybe a semifinalist....can beat Delpo and Tipsy.

Making the semifinals at WTF will be the bigger challenge after his run here against opponents who are well rested. If he does indeed make the semis, then it is any one's game. Wasn't Ferrer the finalist/runner up at the tour finals in 2007 ?

happy for Daveed but sad Janowicz couldn't make the most of his chances in the match. Hope he uses this to propel him to better things. He is now in the top 40 and gets seeded in slams.. from 220 this year!

Very very happy for David :). He really deserved it. It was great to see him finally get this. I like him very much, he seems like such a nice guy.

Really amazing progress Janowicz made. His new ranking should really help him to keep it up as well. Seems like a nice guy as well.

Beat Djokovic and lost to Federer in both runs!

As long as he does not meet Federer in the latter stages he has a chance.

Happy for David, but man what a horrible trophy. I'll bet when you win a trophy like that you get a free bowl of soup. That trophy was so ugly it could be a modern art masterpiece.

Janowicz suck. Anyway, i was very surprised to find out this was Ferrer's very 1st every 1000 event title. thought he won 3 or 4 of those already in his illlustrius career.

Janowicz looked bad in the final match. Low 1st serve percentage and full of UEs. He played a lot better in previous rounds if you watched him before.

Congrats to Ferrer, he deserved the win. Experience counts but hope Janowicz learned a lot and continues to get better....perform well on big stages.

I think it's a wonderful trophy, and very unique in sports. Don't know if you noticed but that trophy has the actually draw on it. All the branches have names of the players in the tourney on them with the winner on the main stem. Very cool in my opinion!

    I agree. I think it's beautiful.
I guess maybe some don't like that it doesn't quite look like trophies usually do?.

I thought it was the names of the past winners on the branches.

Thankfully they went back to the tree edition of the trophy. It is very thougful than that nasty bird **** trophy Federer and Soderling recieved when they won Bercy.

Janowicz was an unforced error machine in this match. I'm surprised that Ferrer beat him with only 1 break per set...

for someone who just won 3-4 hard back to back matches at this level, i was surprised he had enough energy for giving Ferrer a hard fight.
of course his level went down! it was obvious it'll happen eventually.

True. Good for Ferrer that he cannot meet Fed in the semis as he is in his group. I somehow don't see Fed making the final this time. Even if he makes the semis, I think he will lose to either Berd/Murray/Novak. Fed's form has not been all that great post USO, so he is surely not the favorite here.
