In this board I've been hearing about this bloke.. people said he is one of the biggest server and the biggest hitter in the tour... But how come I havent seen him winning! I just saw a little of his match against Labadze and he was getting killed! Was that time he was playing against Australia a fluke or what?

He has been injured for some time now (since some week before
the USA-Sweden Davis Cup tie) and just recently have come
    back and started playing again.

He also has switched rackets (just some five days before playing
Roland Garros) which also explains his bad performance currently
(he wanted to switch now so he would have time to adjust before
    the grass season).

I've been curious about this guy myself since January, but haven't had a chance to watch him yet (not much opportunity in the US outside of Tennis Channel I think...).

I do remember hearing about the injury. Also, isn't his game better suited for faster surfaces?

On Australia... isn't he the guy going out with Hewitt's sister or something like that?! :p

    Definitely.

    That's correct.

This guy's game is awesome everything is so big, forehand, backhand, serve, I saw him play roddick, his strokes are all better, with the possible exception of the serves, although maybe not the 1st

Labadze is comfortable on clay while I'm pretty sure Johansson doesn't like it much.

One huge difference between Labadze and Roddick is that Roddick is a fighter on almost every point (like him or hate him he hangs in there) while Labadze is prone to tank jobs on the order of Rios.

Also this guy is really really slow. I've seen him twice in person now and it looks like he has really gained some spare tires around his waist recently.

If he gets his head together like at Indian Wells and improves his movement he could be a force on tour but until then he's no more than a dangerous floater.

....I saw him play in Del Ray Bch. a couple of months ago....what I was REALLY surprised about....I think he is going to be T H E best doubles player --- if he WANTS to be !! He is treetop-tall ...OWNS the net...has good touch around the net...hits the ball WAY out in front...AND can yank guys around with his 'angled' serves....what else could you need ??? .....maybe a partner ???!!!
