The article says he was summoned to join the Davis Cup team to play against Venezuela in Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis. It was in April 1967.

The team was composed also by Roberto and Eduardo Soriano Aubone. The tie was won by Argentina 5-0, but Martinez did not play. Or he did but outside program and in a friendly against Jorge Andrew, who surpassed.

So he beat a man who later became 74° in the world. The article says he also played against John Newcombe and Manolo Santana.

That man Jorge Andrew was also Davis Cup captain in Venezuela and right now is the President of PTR(Professional Tennis Registry) Board of Directors.

ATP didn't exist before 1972............anything on the ATP about players in the eras before are just links to stories or mentions.

Obviously never did anything worthy of merit - cant list very single Pre ATP player who may have stepped on a court once or twice.
