OK, just wondering if any K Blade TOUR 90 owners have tried the following and only they can answer this question specifically, thanks!!!

I have a Klippermate and stringing a friends racquet with Blue Gear mains, he gave me a full set, 40 feet. The Blade requires 21' according to specs in the link below, but can I get away with using 20' so I can use it for another set in the future???

Only reason I am asking is cos plenty of times even though specs say a certain number of feet I have so much more left over, even considering the slack required for tensioning.

The problem is that polys don't stretch much and while you can get away with shorter lengths of (syn)gut/multi it may not be the case with a stiffer string.
There is a thread open discussing the problem of finishing the last main but not having enough string to tension (but enough to tie off)

I think the best solution was to use a starting clamp to tension the string. If you've got one, you could try the 20' as you'll be able to tension if you come up a little short. Otherwise you could try but if there's not enough string you may be stuck

edit, another option is to keep the string as a full set (40') and be as greedy as possible on one end and see how much string you can save on the long end.

yeah, dunno! But looking at the specs for K SIX-ONE 95 (18x20 pattern) and it is a 95 head-size, slightlu bigger than the K Blade's 93, and both have 18 x 20 patterns, STILL specs for the K SIX-ONE 95 requires only 20' Mains and 17'C compared to 21'M - 19'C for the K Blade....why???? can anyone explain??

    thanks.

i own a kblade tour and i use blue gear in 18 gauge for the mains and i can get away with using 19.5 feet so you should be fine with 20 feet

It'll be a little hard with the klippers gripper. Linear grippers let you have a little leeway. I string my KBTs with 21 ft, but I have plenty left at the end so if you are careful, and mayber have a starting clamp in case, you'll be ok.

20 should be plenty. If he gave you exactly 40, and you're worried about length, two piece it.

I've got a KBT and a klippermate stringer, and I'm fine using 20ft of Leopard Plus Control and Big Ace. You should be fine.

yeah, I took a risk before i read the above two posts and 20 feet was enough after all, thanks for the input guys!!

I have a KBT too, not used it yet cos of hand injury, staying away from tennis but will play regularly again in a month or so, and this helps to save some strings cos i have a cyberflash reel for mains. thanks!
