it appears karlovic is using a aeropro drive with cortex!!!!
against ancic. anyone else see this?
Yeah...imagine his serve now
hes playing good tennis thus far. and his serve does seem slightly more powerful but im noticing a big difference in his forehand
Last time I saw the racquet he had no stencil on it - has it changed, i.e. does he really have a racquet sponsorship for a change?
yes he has a stencil
What did he use before? I forgot
ivo used the liquid metal 98.
it was a flexpoint instinct.
no wonder his forehand is all over the place, he's using a continental grip, even Edberg couldn't pull that one off.
I do like the leather grip though.
It's a Western grip. In the picture Ivo will hit the ball with the side faceing the photographer
hes been using since before the aus open.
the ivo bh is actually decent.
well se how he does in the future with it
Jeez that racquet looks like a toy in the hands of Ivo... whew...
Karlovic and a Aero Pro Drive :?
I think he wants to be a baseline player right now!
Does anybody know if he uses real Cortex??
for karlovic its impossible to use a two handed backhand. look in the pic above at how his hand covers almost all of the handle .
A real Flexpoint Instinct with a 5 1/4th grip and leaded up in the handle and in the head. I've held his frame before at the Pilot Penn. Heavy as hell.
No such a frame exists.
Is this just a paint job? Instincts have a different string pattern, so it should be pretty easy to tell.
^^ you could also see the throat, it is unique for the Aerodrive ... my guess: it is not an pj
Been using it for months and training at Bollettieri's.
I was at Bolletieris in december and Karlovic was there training using the Babolat. He was switching back and forth during his workouts between his Instinct and the Babolat, but primarily hitting alot of groundies and returns with the babolat.
He's losing tiebreakers now. Change back quick Ivo!
no way does Ivo use a Western forehand, NO WAY.
It looks more like an extreme semiwestern.
Lol! My first thought was a full Western grip... but had to re-look at it after someone else mentioned continental.
It's very close to western from looking at the pic.
his hands are huge
what are you smoking he has a ok slice back hand but when he tries to go top he shanks it every time almost....
Did anybody notice the leather grip under the overgrip? It could also be an ultra dirty stock grip with an overgrip?
Nonetheless, very interesting to see Ivo using a Babolat frame...
This is probably better racket anyway. that instinct is very harsh on the arm..
Hey man, you're being sarcastic about that one, right? The Instinct is easily the softest frame I've ever played with. The Areo Pro Drive (Original) is probably the second harshest frame I've ever hit with, and I don't mind super-stiff frames, but there was a noticeable difference.
But maybe the frame will do him some good. Maybe a bit more pop on the serve, bit more pop off the ground, a bit more spin off the backhand, the usual. Who knows? But the difference comes in the form of higher or lower rankings, and we really haven't seen much of him lately, so let's give it some time before we crucify him and claim that he should switch!
NO WAY?!?!, so here he was in crazy days? :
I know for sure that he has changed the frame.
HE was pissed because head doesnt produce the FLEX INSTINCT anymore for nobody.not even karlo.or gasquet or LU..
Karlo went 2 babolat..the other two are playing something else..
but no FLEXinstincts in production anymore..
Gasquet uses the LM Instinct XL. Don't think he even used an FXP paint scheme on his frame.
it sucks that the poor guy isn't sponsored. Any guy who has beaten federer should deserve one.
hope he plays better.... i really like him
why didn't he do what we do and just post here for LM Instinct frames, LOL. Our posters have stashes of everything known to mankind.... and then some.
is it a babolat he's using right now against fed? Looks like it but it's black and white..
may be new pure control ........ ?!?!
That would be the Pure Storm Tour
Hope this leads to a new release.
and he is using new shoes the babolat all court IV
old image. Notice the REAL cortex
Who would of thought that the two biggest servers in the history of tennis use a 100sq inch Babolat tennis racket.
had it in my hand yesterday... fpx insitinct blacked out with stripes...
The Babolat stencil should not be a problem here since Babolat does sponsor players for string and it could be deemed to stand for that. Dunlop did not have this option when they were ordered by the court to cease and desist having Safin stencil his blacked-out Head as a Dunlop.
