Going to spend a week in Kauai on the North shore next February and was wondering if there are tennis clinics, instruction available?

What a coincidence. I will be in Kauai in a hotel close to the Lihue airport between Christmas and New Year. Any tennis information is appreciated.

A group of guys get together at the Princeville Tennis Club every day around 4pm and they welcome drop ins. There are typically 4.0 to 4.5's playing. Look for a gent named Welf. He and others there can direct you to instruction.

Not quite Lihue, but the guy I started playing tennis with, MikeGabrien, became second head pro in a complex in Kapaa, 5 courts, sauna, 2 pools, hot tub.

I called now and found out there is a rental condo complex which allows guests from the hotel I will be staying at to play there (it is next door to the place). But no pros, no club. Just courts to use if you can find someone.

Yeah, things can change radically in 20 odd years. I think Mike got the job there in the mid '80's, a decade after we started playing tennis.
My last stay there, at Pavilions Hanalei, was maybe '82 for a month and a half to surf Hanalei and Middles, Tunnels and Kalieheiwai.

going to be in Kauai week of January 27. I'm an average 4.5 player. Any tennis going on? Don't mind 4.0 games, or even decent clinics if I can at least get a workout.
    Thanks.

North shore or south shore? On N shore, guys locals show up for drop in dubs every day around 4pm at Princeville Makai courts. Some guys are there now that are 5.0+. Have fun!
