Kevin Anderson was fun to watch at the Tennis Channel Open. He appeared to be using a Head MG Prestige of some sort - there were CAP grommets and the shape looked like the MG, not to mention the PJ (!). Does anyone know which one MG Prestige he used?

A Head PT57 E. Not too sure if it is extended but I can ask. For awhile his younger brother played in college with a buddy of mine.

It definitely looks like Standard length. he is so lengthy, he would not need a extended racket anyway. and I really thought he was using the Microgel tech.???

You can be confused if you wanna but it's an "E" so... those new Head molds are really pretty stiff. The "buddy" has some TGK 238.1's with the Microgel Prestige cosmetic and those things are a lot stiffer than the PT57 E's and that much more so than the "A's" we both have. I can tell by how much faster he breaks strings, and by how much more my arm "feels" the new ones.

I personally got word from a coach he was working with in Indian Wells that he did actually switch to the Microgel Prestige tech...of course, no word on any specifications.

As of last summer, it was "E's" in Cincinnati with the Flexpoint Prestige cosmetic so... maybe coach is a shill for Head like everyone else.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what exactly is the Head PT57e?

it might be similar to ernest gulbis' mg prestige. I actually got gulbis' racket. I started a thread on it in this section of pro's racquets and gear with pics.

I saw him play in college and he had a flex-point prestige. I strung one for him (I assume that it was because I strung one for UofI when they were in town) He had full Lux. BB ALU Power but I cant remember the tension.

It was crazy he and Rowe were serving at cups on a ledge behind our courts. The ledge is like 6ft tall and around 10ft behind the court and they were hitting them. It was crazy!

but if he now has the PT57 I wouldn't be surprised because everyone that has a Prestige uses that frame.

I've revived this thread to see if any of our well informed posters who have close ties to Head and/or the pros on tour can opine with clear knowledge and actual insight on the pt57E. It is suggested by some posters that this is Head's code for the stock i prestige, whereas other posters seem to suggest that the pt57 is smu made up of a combination (or perhaps compilation) of the best know-how and knowledge derived from the PT630/i prestige, etc only available to the pros and the pt 57 A & E frames are the same hairpin but the codes merely signifies the differences in the lay-up (twaron/not twaron, etc, etc)? If the latter, does anyone know the recipe?

Put another way, does anyone really know what the pt57e is? If you do, please post and put this issue to bed once and for all.

    Many thanks:).

It is a stiffer setup (than the PT57A) of the PT630.

Although, Kevin Anderson now uses the real TGK238.1 (MG Prestige MP) customized at ****; I would know, I ball-boyed for him at a challenger about a month ago.
