Hello all, I am new to the forums and have a question concerning trying to find a good hybrid setup for 17g Spiky Shark. I currently use a full bed of Babolat Addiction. My concern on the hybrid with the textured string is friction. I am afraid that making a hybrid with anything other than itself, might just cut through something else. The reason I was looking to spiky shark was of course for more spin. I like the feeling of the Addiction, but am concerned about tension loss/durability with using that as my hybrid string. I am a 3.5 player who just switched to a semi-western forehand from eastern, I use a topspin kick serve, and 2-handed backhand.

A textured string will likely reduce the durability of a multi or syn gut (gut) that is used with it. That said, it is often worth it for the qualities that the string offers. Don't shy away from trying it out just for this reason.
