Klippermate stringing loose

Every time i string a racquet, it usually ends up being around 10lbsd looser than what i set the bar to. I know because i check the string tension of the racquet using RacquetTune iphone app. The racquet also is very powerful. I strung with natural gut and it is almost unplayable because it is so loose.

I got my racquet strung at the pro shop and checked the tension on racquet tune and it was correct so i know that it is not RacquetTunes problem.

What am i doing wrong on my klippermate?

This may be due to string slippage either off your initial pull or from your clamps. For your next string job, wrap your string around the gripper before you pull it.

Let the bar stop falling. Even though the bar may be horizontal, it can still be falling at a slow rate, stretching the string. Since you are stringing natty gut, I'm assuming this is the case because of the softness of gut(although I've never strung gut myself). Try pre-stretching a little more and just be patient with the bar leveling out.
Any time I string my multi's, I leave the bar be for at least 5 seconds, ratchet back up to horizontal because it does fall more, and see if it completely stopped dropping, clamp off if it does and if not, repeat.

i have not cleaned the klippermate clamps in a while, could this be the problem?

Yes, especially if you string slick strings with a lot of silicone on them. Also, the gripper needs cleaning. You must disassemble the gripper to clean it well. You may find you need to clean your equipment every five or six racquets.

ONe other factor to consider is that you are stringing natural gut. There's a nice tutorial on this in TW site. When I strung gut on my Kmate, I found it played looser than I'd like: I attribute that to the string, not the machine.

If you string gut again, string it a bit tighter than you do other kinds.

I am willing to bet you are reading the tension from the wrong side. If you took the weight off the bar and put it on backwards-the arrow on the weight is now backwards. On a Klipper that will result in a 10lbs difference.

make sure your clamps are facing the correct direction (make sure the cross strings are being clamped by the teeth not the mains), I had this problem at first until I realized the mistake. Cleaning clamps and gripper make also help, and make sure you clamp tight enough.
