I've had a knee injury for the past 2-3 weeks and no matter what I do, it doesn't seem to be getting better. I went to my doctor, he told me to ice it for about a week. So I did that, and it seems the same. I'm not sure what to do, any ideas?

Whatever you do, don't rest it. You should over use it, and play as much as possible. Kidding.

I got a minor knee injury after an 8 mile run and it took me a good 3 months to get over it completely. I started feeling the pain in the last mile but I ignored it which resulted in the injury. Didn't go to the doctor or anything. Just rested up. A couple of weeks later, tried running again, as soon as it hurt again, I stopped immediately. Rested again, then tried again, then rested again, you get the picture. Took 3 months before it healed completely. I also changed the way I run and also tried different shoes. Maybe that helped.

The moral of the story is be patient and give it plenty of rest. And if it still hurts after plenty of rest, give it more rest. The last thing you want to do is abuse it some more prematurely before it heals. Then it may become permanent.

You also gotta figure out how it got injured in the first place and take action to avoid repeating the injury next time.

Ice and rest for now. It'll get better soon.
