    Hey Guys,
I noticed Rafa is taping his knees.
Does this help to prevent knee injury?
I felt little pain during the play yesterday and if this helps, want to try.
Is there anything that i need to know in order to tape well?

    Thanks.

Recent studies seem to indicate taping works better than braces in managing knee pain. The key is taping it properly. One of the current favorite techniques is McConnell taping named after the creator. I believe this is what Rafa is using.

You need to have someone trained in the technique teach you how do it properly and to tailor it for your specific issue(s).

Nadal doesn't appear to have his knee caps taped up. I believe the tapes go just below the patellas.

I've had knee problems as well, and its been a journey through various ortho and physical therapist but generally I think taping is good, however you have to know why you are taping and the proper way to do so. Your knee pain may come from the cap sliding down/up/left/right this is dependent on multiple variables. You should see a physical therapist or orthopedic doctor who can assess your knees and determine the best way to do it. Just my 2 cents.

No comments on taping as it seems to be a pain and not something I would do. I wear a neoprene slip on thing on my right knee which gets sore and painful. It works fine for me -

As mentioned by FloridaAG, there are neoprene products that you can try if you want to see if support will help your knee.

There a sleeves that cover the knee and part of the thing as well as the calf...and i have also seen patella straps which are essentially thinner straps that go directly under the knee similary to where you see Nadal has his taping.
