Anyone in the Kona Area Jan 1 -7, 2011? If you are a resident, let me know where to find a friendly game for a 4.0 -4.5 male.

You should probably look into going to Waikoloa. Its about 15 min from Kona and its where all the big hotels are (on the big island) and I would assume they have nicer courts, and most likely a instructor who knows locals you can play with.

But others may have better suggestions, the last time I was there was when I still lived there about 10 years ago.

Some of the best courts and places to play are just north of Kona proper - about ten to twenty minutes up the Queen K road. The Hilton Wiakoloa hosts an ATP Challenger every year and has nice courts. The Fairmont Orchid has a very nice facility as does the Mauna Kea Resort. The Four Seasons has Rebound Ace courts so that might be fun for you guys and is only a few minutes north of Kona. All these places have great programs and will arrange matches for you as well.

All great places to hit and all around beautiful environment. Have fun hitting in paradise.

    Sorry for missing the post

JGoldB, Sorry I missed the opportunity to hit in Kona. I just missed you post. Had to slip out for some Cat-Skiing prior to Kona. Hope your Hawaii trip was great, ours was outstanding. No tennis, though. Too busy doing Hawaii activities.

If you haven't done so already, Mauna Kea Beach Resort has some of the most beautiful courts in the world. Couple of the courts are right on the rocky coast, you can see and smell the spray from the swells hitting the rocks as you play. I have heard they are great at game matching too.

Sorry, I'd play but I'm on Oahu

    Aloha,

A few places to play in Kona.

    Holua (11 courts).

    Royal Kona (4 courts)

    Old Airport (4 courts)

You can find out about tennis in hawaii including all the courts (public and private/club) at... http://www.tennisinhawaii.com

I'm a 4.0 and a member of the Holua club. We have a good stable of players from 3.5 to 4.5. Let me know if you'd like to hit with any of them.

    Mahalo,

I'm going to resurrect this thread since it already exists. I'll be at the Mauna Kea Beach Resort from 1/11-1/18/2015 if anyone is around, looking to get in some 4.0/4.5 sets. Hit me up at chrisingrassiaa85@gmail.com

    Aloha JerryK,

We have been very busy this week preparing for our 9th Annual FilAm Tourney this weekend (Jul 18-19). It is a charity event to raise scholarship funds for eligible students.

I hope you can make it down to our tourney in Keauhou which is about 45 min from Puako.

Would be a pleasure to meet you and have you meet our tennis community.

If you are going to be around past this weekend, we can probably schedule to hit somewhere in Waikoloa or in Kona.

Send me an email either way.

    Mahalo.
