    I just bought a ksix-one tour 90 and I measured the unstrung
weight and balance. To my surprise, the unstrung balance
measured 10 pts HL as opposed to the rated spec, 12 pts HL.
I also realized my racket's grip end is different from my friend's stick.
My friend's has a red cap and mine's got a black cap.
Has any of you actually measured your racket's balance?
The unstrung weight of my racket is 341 grams BTW.

wierd. it's supposed to be 351 unstrung weight plus the leather grip that adds more weight and headlight. where'd you buy it?

I think it's supposed to be 340 unstrung. Bought at a local shop.
Would this be due to the poor quality control by wilson lately?

    What do you mean lately?

They're supposed to be black. OP, I'd ask your friend if he has a replacement butt cap...

I'm talking about the color around the W on the butt cap. Fed's is red and mine's gray.

Wow, from my calculations based on Wilson's letter linked to above, their tolerance is plus/minus 3 pts in balance and plus/minus 0.25 oz in weight. The balance variability is almost that of strung vs unstrung, and the weight variability is half of strung vs unstrung.

Very very shoddy. If they can't get this right, what is the (K)redibility of their other "technologies"? And how come they can claim things like 22% stronger? Why not 20.9% stronger LOL.

I think they should tighten their spec tolerances like Fisher is doing.

With all the discussions about minute racquet differences on this board, do people even know what they are using?

Or maybe the specs are loose so that Fed's racquet, whatever it is, can always be claimed to be a K90 LOL along with most other racquets LOL

Federer does play with the K90, that's why that cap is red ;)

That sentence made no sense what so ever to me.. Or maybe I didn't read it enough. But I'd take a guess and say his is red cuz it's his specialized rackets, the grey one is just a trap door buttcap. I have a grey/black buttcapp as well.

being a new user i guess this speculation is accepted.
but if you read around, Fed's rackets current paintjob has that butt cap, while the actual stock US K90 has a Black But Cap with a Grey Colored "W" logo.

I believe TW has a machine that measures it.

Can anyone help with the 8pts headlight ordeal? I usually add tournagrip over the handle so maybe it will be closer to 9pts by that pt. I'm not sure if I should stick with this 8pt racket or try to get one thats 9pts headlight (that seems to be the avg on TWs website).

Add more weight to the grip area if you can handle the extra weight. I just added 12 grams under the leather grip of my Asian K90. Now the balance is the same as my US spec ones.
