Will Flavia win another game? At least Murray/Djokovic match won't start too late. As they will probably play a 4 hour snooze fest.

Agree 100%, but it ain't gonna happen unless Venus retires, which, unfortunately, doesn't appear likely in the near future. On another note, why do some posters get banned or even warned for merely addressing other posters, and disgusting posts like have occured in this thread recently raise nary an eyebrow?

I think Djokovic is going to make short work of Murray. Novak is feeling it too much--hardly a concern in the way he's playing right now.

If she continues to serve like this, the match won't last much longer.

Serena said she likes Panetta on and off the court.

No wonder Serena is not shrieking, screaming or even fist pumping.

Flavia needs to lay it all out. Serena is acting casual at the moment.

The end is near it seems.

BTW, look at the poll on the top of this thread: of all the candidates to win the title only one survived...

You know, this type of hate is unhealthy. A true fan of the sport would respect greatness, even if you don't like the person.

Boo hoo! Why do you even watch any of her matches since she wins the overwhelming majority of them and it makes you so angry and bitter? Are you a masochist?

He's a serena-hater. He despises her in every way. Calls her rude names and uses disgusting and vile language. What do you expect from lowlife like him.

When Maria is being interviewed after a match guess what I do? I change the channel because I have no interest in what she has to say. I don't get mad or upset because I don't hear anything. It works very well.

Thrilled Serena is through to the semifinals. Have waited patiently for her to approach #18, and it will happen at the US Open! Great for American tennis and the sport!

Yeah, I don't get playing doubles when you're at the top of your sport, especially in a major. A regular tour event? That's fine, but you never know what the rigors of a major will bring. Venus, with her illness that comes and goes isn't a lock. Playing doubles when you're going for history just isn't very bright.

Unreal, like it's Serena's fault that she's 32 and still getting it done. Her closest rivals are sitting down on the job. She's right to take as much of the available as she can.

It's amazing what Serena has done in and for the sport, and yet, all you hear are disparaging comments, many of which come from the commentator bias and those who follow them.

It's hard to understand how it can be anything but that. I can't think of any other player who has been so maligned.

Parents who witnessed the $4M payout that Serena received for winning the US Open are going to start taking their athletic daughters out of soccer and put tennis racquets in their hands. It's great for the future of tennis.

You're right. When she's on, she wipes the floor with the others. It doesn't make her any more likeable, (for me) but then I don't like Sharapova or Azarenka. It's a noise/intimidation thing for me. I just hope there's a change of guard soon.
