Probably a smart move for him. It certainly feels like he's jumping from a ship that's currently sinking.

Why do you think the ship is sinking?

I just think women's tennis is terrible at the moment. Look at the current top 10:

    1 (1) WILLIAMS, SERENA USA
    2 (2) SAFINA, DINARA RUS
    3 (3) JANKOVIC, JELENA SRB
    4 (4) DEMENTIEVA, ELENA RUS
    5 (6) ZVONAREVA, VERA RUS
    6 (5) WILLIAMS, VENUS USA
    7 (7) IVANOVIC, ANA SRB
    8 (8) KUZNETSOVA, SVETLANA RUS
    9 (9) PETROVA, NADIA RUS
    10 (11) AZARENKA, VICTORIA BLR

Only two of these girls are top 5 material in past eras (Williams sisters). They hardly even play and can easily stay at the top of the game.

Safina , Jankovic, and Ivanovic would probably creep around from the 12 to 7 spots if they played in past eras.

The rest of them would reside outside the top 10.

Here are the two chief reasons.

    1.) Venus Williams

    2.) Serena Williams

They are detriments to the sports.
