I dunno man... When you do talk to you do you notice how long he can stay on the phone for? Sometimes I'll call with a 1 min question and he keeps me on the line for like 30 min. If hes on the phone then theres no other person to pick up. I just call and if he doesn't answer the 1st time I leave a message and if he doesn't call me back in like an hour I just call back and I usually can get in touch with him. He seems to have a little bit too much work to handle for one or two guys. I just call with reminders every now and then cuz I know his current reputation.

You are right about his ability to extend a conversation along. Let me know if your tracking number is active or does it just say billing information received?
You can email me directly at acox @ pixius.net Just remove the spaces.

They sent me the tracking number on the 10th so I think UPS has had time to update it if they actually had the package instead of just getting a lable to stick on the imaginary quantum...

haha I dunno like I said in the email I sent you I called UPS just to verify that he actually did give them a package to ship that weighed 56 pounds. Theres no way he can get away with lying about sending the wrong package as I call everyday to make sure he doesn't. I've taken pretty much every step I could take to insure my machine arives as promised. If I don't actually get it i'm interested in the lies or excuses I'll be getting

I hope you enjoy your free reels of Laserfibre string... perhaps, when you receive the stringer in 6-8 months... you can tell us all how you like it :)

If UPS confirmed the weight, I suspect that you will be getting the machine. Have you tried tracking yet -- should be able to get the details of when it was shipped, current status and delivery date. It should be there by now or scheduled for delivery any time now.

That does not sound correct. You got the shipping #'s on the 10th right? You should be able to go to the UPS site the next business day and see the step by step status of your shipment. I ship via UPS Ground every day and I have never had such a delay in being able to view shipping/delivery status on line. Most businesses will use the UPS Worldship system to manage and transmit shipment information. Once transmitted it *will* be in the tracking system. Also, once scanned by the driver, it will likewise be in the system. If it was shipped/scanned by UPS you should be able to see the details now -- 8 days after scanning/shipping.

Sorry -- my mistake, it was another poster who said he got the # on the 10th. Sounds like you are in good shape. Sorry for the false alarm.

I'm guessing that it will be about a couple of reels of string and 50 lbs of cinder blocks.

Given LF's rather "creative" approach to customer relations I wondered if they might stoop to transmitting the order without having it picked up, in which case it would have shown up in the UPS records for a little while (with shipping address, weight, etc.) but not be trackable online. Once it can be tracked online, the legitimacy of the shipment can at least be confirmed.

Take this for what it is worth but I officially canceled my order and asked for a refund today by email since I couldn't get through on the phone and they haven't called me back for two days after repeatedly leaving messages. I would much rather have dealt with Laserfibre but after so many repeated delays and questionable excuses and having to get my racket strung at a shop, I am going to go elsewhere. I hope they refund quicker than they ship...

haha my latest email from laserfibre... not looking so good...

    Hey Sam,

Sorry I couldn’t call, I didn’t go back to the office because I had to get home for a family thing.

One of the machines at the UPS distribution center was yours. It wasn’t just missing a label. I was missing part of the box where the label used to be. I had to take it back for Ted to re-boxed for tomorrow morning. It could not be shipped in the condition it was in.

So, the bad news is that it won’t be there by Monday. The good news is we found out why it wasn’t tracking.

Except for dropping the machine off at the office early in the AM, I am going to be out of the office until about noon tomorrow. Let’s talk then (about 12:30) and you can decide what you’d like to do.

Thanks and sorry for all the difficulty.

    Thanks,

    Tim

He has the worst luck of anyone I've ever heard of or encountered! Now, a giant... stringing machine-eating monster bit off a chunk of the box that just happened to contain the shipping label... mmhmmm

So, basically... there is no machine nor was there ever a machine at the UPS distribution center.

The lies just smoothly roll off the tongue.

At least you got an email from them. They have yet to contact me about my request to cancel my order and credit my card since they charged it a month ago. I can't get another stringing machine until I get this money back. Sam, good luck on getting yours...

Has anyone else been charged for a machine?

I agree with the above poster that they were probably trying to get enough capital together to get a production run going. This would not be the best way to go about it!

So they *did* fake the shipment, hence the fact that your telecon with UPS led you to believe it had been shipped since they had a # in their database, even though there was no actual shipment. I'm thinking Louisville Slugger...

yeah for some reason I believe in giving people 2nd chances... Actually its more like I have to wait for a Revo 4K neway I might as well give him a chance to get me it. He promised me today that he was going to get it boxed up and shipped with a brand new label. I told him to email me a picture of my machine about to go into the box that its shipping in lol. I guess since he agreed to it hes gotta have something... I dunno this is just so freakin weird...

The truth is, the Revo probably offers the most bang for the buck and is worth the wait.

yes most likely... I also like I can add a wise once I start getting my customer base up. This is starting to look like what I'm going to have to do but i'll still give laserfibre their chance for a bit as it seems to be a pretty amazing machine.

This thread is bringing back painful memories my ms200tt order a couple of years ago. After 4 months of ridiculous excuses I did eventually get it, so there is hope!

Make sure you post the pic. I have only seen the one pic and it was pretty generic. I had originally placed my order in Sept of '07 and have heard a variety of reasons and excuses. Finally, I ran out of patience.

The sad thing is that many at the time assumed Strungway was the problem...apparently not.

I'm like you about giving second chances... however, your story is not unique in the TT forums. You're the 3rd or 4th person (at least) this has happened to. I just find it hard to believe that someone like that can continually lie to (ex) customers and not feel really badly about it. I guess some people have no conscience.

Btw, post a pic of the machine going into the box, tomorrow... so we can all see it

So, being that no one has received a LF quantum machine, yet... they are almost 1-year behind whatever funky schedule they had planned.

Yeah we had a picture before of it being red on these boards. Hmm. Guess it was to much trouble to paint a knock off of a different brand and slap on a fancy tensioning mechanism.

so what do you guy think? it ended up being like $715 shipped with some packs of their multifiber strings... I really wanted somethings thats constant pull but something thats fast as well which is why I opted for the quantum... Think theres something else I can get constant pull from with some decent speed... I'm going to be stringing lots of raquets for our club members.

Amazing what you can do with Photo-Paint. It would be more believable if there were more shots from different angles of all three components together - the base, turntable, and tensioning mechanism. But, maybe it is for real! :)

i guess they're real... It has the laserfibre logo but you cant really tell by a photo. I just got an email letting me know they actually are going to have the machine in both the red or the blue color. It shipped last night so hopefully if everything goes the way it should AKA no lies or excuses most likely tusday. I don't show any information with my tracking number yet but UPS told me by later 2night I should see something.

So is it just the weight mechanism that's made in the USA, because I think that the Pioneer DC Plus is made in China?

    Quantum color

I spoke to LaserFibre today. The pics posted are real. The reason for the Blue color on the turntable is these were originally to be shipped as the export model. The Domestic model is the color red. Because they are behind schedule they are not exporting any Stringers until they catch up with Domestic orders. So they are shipping all units, Blue and Red, to US customers.
