    From LaserFibre:

Our office has been temporarily closed due to the recent flooding here in RI (impassable roads). However, we see that you tried to place an order at our LaserFibre Store. We are sorry you were unable to complete it. There is a glitch on our website that gives some customers a false error message as you try to complete the process. The problem is on our site and not on your end.

We can take care of and process your order for you internally if you would like us to. The TourFit reducers are in stock and can ship today. We will use the billing and shipping info that you entered when attempting to place the order. You do not need to do anything more.

Also, we now have the option for a flat rate priority mail which is a little less expensive than the $8.05. We can automatically make that change to reduce your order cost.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience of the website glitch. It is being worked on as we speak.

Feel free to let me know if you’d like us to manually process your order for you and we can get it on its way to you today.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Kathy

    Yeah, good luck with that.
I heard exact same reply over the phone and in the email, except for the flooding part. And yet, i got nothing from them
My first order i placed in November 2009, then in Dec 2009. Then i called in January 2010 and guy on the phone was apologizing and promised me that order will go out same day...I am still waiting for the order.
The good thing is - they did not charge my CC.
I suggest that you forget about them. I was going to drive down there just to see what is up with that but, then i i realized it is not worth my time.
He is right about the flooding part though. We had rain up the *** here and RI got hit bad. I am next state over by the way.

I am very disappointed to hear such things from Laserfibre. I might need some supplies from them in the near future. I hope I don't.

thanks alex for sharing the letter.

I did a manual order over the phone for 4 reducers 4 weeks ago. He said the website system was glitchy at the moment. I got the grips 2 days later as promised.

someone needs to undertake a secret mission to this alleged "Laserfiber" facility to see what is really going on there... quite a mystery.

4 miles? I'd just walk there. Or ran in the morning.
So, if you can, please stop by and let us know WTF is really going on with LF.

Yes, their stringers seem so wonderful for the price. If only real people could receive them.

This girl Kathy was very kind when I first placed my order. Got my 7 reducers with no problems( around April 2009 ).

Then I wanted to get 7 TwinTones, never received them. Emailed her again, she said they would ship another 7 TwinTones in the same day. Never got them. Now she doesn't even reply my emails.

LF sucks. Good thing is that I don't need them anymore. But I lost almost $50.

It's so disappointing to hear these stories, because Laserfibre makes the only multifilament I'll ever buy again having switched to full poly a year ago. Supernatural Pro Stock really is that good.

God damn it! I have been hearing things about this Supernatural Pro Stock strings for a while now. And yet, i can not get any.
That was why i was contacting LF.
Does anyone have a set or two that they can sell to me?
Just want to see how it plays.
If anyone has couple sets for sale, contact me please.

Best multifilament money can buy. No contest. It is rather expensive and has ATROCIOUS durability. But for those few sets where it's not frayed or popped, you'd swear you're playing with gut except not super soft. So crisp, you just have to try it. Cost effective? Absolutely not. Still worth it? Absolutely...if you've got lots of money...which I don't :D

Well...i play with full bed VS Touch or Wilson NG. That should answer some questions.
Is it cost effective in my case? I think yes, assuming it DOES play like VS Gut.
So, in my case, instead of paying $42/set, i will pay $18/set. It is cost effective for me.

Hmm I ordered a 2010 stringing machine and got the same email about flooding. Should I just cancel my order? I really need a machine because I sold my last one to get this one.

I hate to break it to you but....if they charged your credit card, i would not wait longer than 30 days to file a dispute.
Let us know how it turns out.

I think I would concur here.

Forgive the recap of my story, but I ordered a LaserFibre Quantum TT Premium last May. My credit card was charged almost immediately and according to their website AT THAT TIME, this meant that my machine was due to be shipped within 24 hours. I waited 30 days and received no communication from LaserFibre, even after phoning and emailing. At that point, I sent LaserFibre an email informing them that I was canceling the order due to non-delivery within 30 days.

I disputed the charge with my bank, provided the necessary documentation that I had tried contacting LaserFibre (with no success), and received my refund in July. According to my bank, I then had to wait 40 days for LaserFibre to contest the chargeback, which they did not. How can you contest a chargeback when you fail to deliver the product?

I am still steamed at myself for not doing more research regarding the business practices of LaserFibre. I am more steamed at LaserFibre for not delivering what I thought would be a solid stringing machine after eagerly taking my money.

Once my money was assured in September, I purchased an Alpha Revo 4000 and I love it! However, this does not fully repair losing an entire stringing season.

On a side note, when I check for my order on the LaserFibre Store website, it's status is still listed as "Processing" even though the order was placed 11 months ago! Perhaps they will one day ship a stringing machine to me? They would have to send it free of charge because I've changed bank account numbers... :)

Sorry for the rant, but I cringe every time someone attempts to purchase a stringing machine from LaserFibre. I REALLY would like to know if ANYONE has purchased and received a new Quantum from LaserFibre in the last year?

I agree. That machine looks awesome. I almost bought it myself. But right before making a purchase i started doing a research. After reading all this stuff, i said to myself - just do a small order of string or something first see how that goes. And sure enough - i placed two orders within two month and got nothing. Luckily my cc did not get charged so i lost nothing but time.
But what i do not get is the fact that twice i spoke on the phone with very polite and knowledgeable gentleman and both times he assured me that my orders will go out same day. I am wondering if that guy is some kind of a mental case and just having fun with people.
I am really tempted to go down there and see wtf is really going on. But it is just a little off my routes and almost 2 hours away.

Kot- I too have been more than tempted to go down there and take a look, but after thinking about it some it became clear that access might be limited and I would likely learn very little. My experience with LF has been similar to yours, although I did manage to purchase a Quantum for my son a couple of years ago (superb machine by the way). The people I dealt with were very nice and went out of their way to help my son set it up and walk him through his 1st string job. However, the transaction was far from smooth with all the false starts, credit card mix-ups, etc.

My feeling is we already have more than enough evidence to suggest that doing business with them is a crap shoot, at best. How they manage to stay in business behaving this way is beyond comprehension. At this point anyone contemplating doing business with them should give serious consideration to the possibility that their doors are probably not far from closing for good.

Just cancelled my order but they haven't replied. After I received the email about the flooding and they said it would be rescheduled for Friday. Today I left a voice message and email. No reply, and have not received shipping info as originally requested.

I had high hopes. When I first left a voicemail about wanting to purchase a machine I think someone named Tom or something called me back and spent a long time 20+ mins on the phone with me telling me about the stringer. I purchased one and invoice said it would go out last Thursday. Still no shipping/tracking info. Looks like an awesome machine, why can't they just send me one geez. If ain't available don't tell me it was going to ship last week. bleh. Got an important tennis event and need to string 4 racquets. They haven't charged my cc yet but I'm still a little worried about that. Going to leave another voicemail.

I strongly recommend you contact your credit card company immediately and explain to them the situation. Let them know that you contacted LF via email and phone and requested they cancel the order. Also let them know you have have not received a response or confirmation. Also request that they reject any charges on your card from LF. That way, you're covered.

Called my bank. It's not possible since I already gave them my cc info 2 weeks ago. So hopefully they don't charge me and send it a couple months later or something. I already bought an Alpha Revo 4000 from TW today.

I think you will be pleased with the Revo... it is a solid machine and the service is top notch! I've called Alpha a couple of times with questions and both times the techs were courteous and very helpful.
