Recently i found a short clip in quite good quality of the Laver-Newcombe match at Wim 1969. I have the full match on video, and Krosero - thanks to him - put longer excerpts on youtube. I hope the link is right, and its really HD quality.

If you can transfer that Wimbledon match to dvd for me, I will pay you anything you want. Or else, I can trade you any number of discs from my 100+ pro match collection.
    Thanks. gesimon1@yahoo.com

To GS. I have it on dvd, and would it send to You without any payment (except postal costs), but i have no recorder, which can transfer it on another dvd. My computer is quite old, so i don't think, that it can copy the video. I bought the dvd of the match some years ago on the internet, and i know, that several posters here have it in their collection.

from Spanish TV that is not very good quality but watchable.

Thanks for sharing this...great stuff...saw both up close during the mid 70's (WCT and TTennis) looks like both players focused on out positioning each other in this match...the guys today hit so darn hard so not much room for variety/artistry (except for Tomic perhaps)...

    Relax folks, ...
The style of play is engaging. The select highlights showcase a high level of shot-making and artistry. Laver's play was incredibly urgent.

I call it intensity. No one played at his level of intensity before or since.

I don't think any player today is capable of putting as much topspin on the ball with a continental grip as Laver did.
