I applied lead tape to my racquet head yesterday. This is my first time trying lead tape. I know lead can cause cancer. I just felt uncomfortable rubbing my bare fingers and thumb on the lead tape. I wear contacts so I'm sensitive about the cleanliness of my hands. Have any of you guys gotten sick using lead tape?

why do you rub agaisnt it? Should the lead tape be placed inside the frame but not outside on the surface so it wont scratch off easily? Just be careful washing your hands when dealing with lead...could cause birth defect, cancer and all.

Tchocky-- hey, do a SEARCH on this forum about it. this topic has been discussed ad nauseum in the past year. It's also been discussed in RACQUETS also on this board.

I know a guy, lived to be 103, lived at least 80 of those years in a house with lead water pipes. Don't the folks in California think this is a bit exaggerated? You need heavy, heavy doses (eat a couple of rolls of lead tape a month for a year or so) to have impacts.

It's been discussed before, everything in the state of california is known to cause cancer ;)

Just don't eat the lead tape, and practice some common sense while handling it and you'll be fine. Wash your hands afterwards.
