Bump, just recently started playing again and made a new account. Leveled it up to 22.

Lol, it's understandable if you rage quit. So many feeders in non-ranked matches. :)

All about the quick actions lol. It's fun if you own, not when you get owned. ;)

Only a minority of players fit that stereotype, don't clump them with us friendly players.

DOTA 2 is meh imo, lost interest in it after a week. I prefer Smite and LoL more.

Corki is a great champ, but I prefer TF. The surprise ganks from anywhere is scary. :)

The only issue I have (along with most other eSports) is that the community isn't very friendly or accepting towards newer players. There's SO much rage in the game that it's an instant turn off towards people who are genuinely interested in learning from their mistakes.

The other issue I have with the game is that it isn't (at amateur levels) purely skill based -- leveling/grinding to earn abilities, etc gives a good revenue model to Riot, but forces you to spend many hours playing the game (or buying everything) in order to compete well. I don't think this is a true problem, I just don't have the time to grind for a few hours a day on something that rewards me (in "real" life) with no tangible benefits.

Please note: This is not a criticism on gamers, I respect people that pursue eSports and gaming, my priorities are just in other places atm.

For that reason is why its best to party up with friends. Always be in a pre-made unless your willing to cooperate with 12 year olds. If your going to play ranked, at least duo. I made this mistake myself. ( Managed to stay at silver 3 though. )
When i was at the point of quitting, i realized what you mentioned " no tangible benefits. " All that was going on was me getting angry and me wasting time to try playing again to see if i can win.

Solo ranked definitely has it's risk, don't want to end up with rage quitting kids who cause you to slip into elo hell. It's not fun, had to abandon an account once because I hadn't played ranked in a while and had a streak of bad matches due to rage quitters, couldn't get out of elo hell. :(

This is another issue, try getting a consistent group of people together that are all "professional aged," seems like everyone around my age that I'd want to play with is either getting married, goes to bed around 10PM, OR is ALL games ALL the time. The tangible benefits thing gets in the way.

I have a group of buddies that hang out and "socialize" on a Mumble server, and they play LoL quite a bit, but I was/am at level 12 (?) and don't even have flash, yet. It's kind of rough to jump into a game with them as I'm outclassed by most opponents. There's always a caveat for me, as I'm in the awkward position of not incompetent, but not willing to put the time investment in. When I was younger, I definitely wouldn't have thought twice to drop 3-5 hours a day on something like this, but as I get older, time becomes a precious commodity.
