I am looking for a new grip for a black and gold Blade 98. Is leather a good idea or bad. Will it become more or less maneuverable at net?

Good idea, if you like leather grips. It will be more headlight with the heavier grip. Most people feel that headlight racquets are more maneuverable at the net. However, opinions vary about how extra weight in the handle affects the way a racquet swings on groundstrokes and serves. Some like it, some don't. Probably depends on what you're used to. In any case, you should try it out. You can always swap back to synthetic grip if you don't like it with leather. :)

I always add around three grams of blutak to the inside of the butt cap of kblades and if the grips fail I'll change to leather.
