I found my old Wilson K Pro Tour with a worn out leather grip on it, and I took the leather grip off and put it on my Pro Kennex Q Tour (replaced the current grip with the leather one)

It felt phenomenal. There were no blisters or anything. I wrapped a tourna grip over it. My question is, I really like the Wilson leather grip but I have a hunch that it didn't give me blisters because it was already well worked in. If I were to buy a new leather grip, do you think this would be the case? Also, did Wilson change their leather grips in the past few years, or would it be the same one as the one I took off the K Pro Tour? Also, I saw TW sells their own leather grips..are any of them comparable to Wilson's? Thanks.

I am asking because I want to put a leather grip on my second racquet.

Worn down leather grips become smooth and will not give you blisters. a new leather grip would be a little more rough and so if you played with a new leather grip with NO overgrip you may get some blisters

I would be playing with an overgrip. Do you have any experience with the TW brand? Are any of the 4 TW offerings compare to the wilson grip?

Help, I'm steppin' into the twilight zone....
I can't compare the TW leather grip to the Wilson grip, but I can say that the TW grip is a great all round grip. I play my Aerogel 200's with just the TW leather and no overgrip. They are quite firm and offer just the right amount of tack.

I found the Wilson leather to be quite papery and it bleeds colour like nothing else. TW is good, Gamma is good. Both could be used without an overgrip.

I liked the TW leather grip, but more recently switched to the Prince Calfskin Leather and wow it's a major difference. They are more tacky and I like the darker brown look as well. Much better feel in the Prince Calfskin leather grips.

TennisCanada1 - how long did you play with your old Wilson K Pro Tour? Just wondering how long you played with the leather grip on it.

Haha, yes for the first few uses you get a yellow hand. Good grips though.
