is it true that leather grips increase the gripsize by one size?

    ex: a 4 1/4 handle with a leather grip because a 4 3/8s grip

i want to make my racquet a little bit more head light, so i was advised to use leather grip, instead of placing lead tape under the handle and then having to distribute the weight around the racquet again.

    thanks

I recently put a Wilson leather grip on my n6.1 95 and it actually DECREASED grip size by a bit.

Leather does not compress nicely like the foam style synthetic grips do. I'd say that the leather is a very consistent size, and doesn't change (much) over time, whereas cushy foam grips may start out a little large, but may squish/deform to smaller than a leather over time.

    Hope that helps.

From my experience leather grips do not increase the grip size at all. If anything the I have found the grip size my decrease slightly but not by much.
