Just saw these up on Tenniswarehouse website and they are just stunning. So vintage and honesty beautiful tennis bags regardless of the price. I'm tempted to order one for $600 but they are sold out...not surprisingly.

Just a BIG KUDOS to Wilson for thinking outside the box and making some really snazzy looking tennis bags with no gold pin stripe anymore...thank you, thank you.

Probably the most beautiful tennis bags ever made....just check out the grain detail in the leather....wow!!

Not really....they are new so we don't really know if perhaps a pro is using the bags yet. :)

Dear Hollywood, exactly my thoughts about this Wilson bag. On the other hand, I am not sure that I could/would allow myself taking those to court(s), even if I get the bag eventually. It is just too beautiful. The only bag that comes close to this one, IMHO, is the white Head tennis bag, worn on the last Wimbledon.

    Cheers.

Ohhh...yes the Head white MonsterCombi bags from Wimbledon...those are nice bags too.

Just a breath of fresh air when I saw these from Wilson I immediately clapped my hands and said "Bravo". I hear what you're saying about them being too nice to bring to the court but a few scuff marks here and there would it give some character as well since is dark brown leather.

I'm really tempted to order one...this is a bag the become a collectors item and you own for life. Few years from now and even this summer people will be asking.....where did you get that tennis bag. It's more like high end luggage....I love it!

Who in their right sense of mind - buys:
    1. A $600 tennis bag
    2. A leather $600 tennis bag.

    Makes no sense whatsoever

I posted this in the other thread regarding these bags.

If someone buys a $600 high-quality, durable, classic style bag and uses it for 10 years, it's comparable if not better than the posers that buy the $60-$120 'style of the season' nylon/plastic bags every 6-months/year.

It's a nice looking bag if you want to spend the money. If you use wilson racquets it would be a nice option but it would seem strange using this bag with a different brand. Also its not thermo lined, so it wouldn't be good for playing outside.

I'll have my valet carry it around so it doesn't get dirty or scuffed by it being placed on the ground.

If it were to go on sale I would definitely consider buying it. This is a bag you own for life, it's a collector's item.

I don't see the resemblance of the purse but if you think it looks like one I hope you think it's a Louis Vuitton.

I've walked by Louis Vuitton store at local mall, believe me, they wouldn't carry something like that in their store.

providing the owner actually uses it. Based on some of the comments in this thread, it seems people would be content to just own without using it. That makes no sense to me at all.

Valid point... Who, uses a tennis bag for 10 years?
And the better question, would this bag even last 10 years?

I got this bag when my local tennis sold their business and cleared the inventory. I got it for 200 bucks. It is seriously one of the best purchases I have ever made. This bag is fantastic. Even the zippers zip nicer than others. I get a lot of compliments and after half a year, it looks the same as when I bought it. I highly recommend. And yea... it holds my 3 wilson pro tour 90s, so no brand mismatch. I don't know. Part of tennis is the style. It is a gentleman's game. This bag is class all the way.

3 were on the auction site - one sold for $450 and one for $600. Another didn't sell

It is a really nice looking product.
    But...
I would feel silly using it anywhere else other than the most elitist tennis club in my area (which I am certainly not a member of, so that doesn't apply anyway).
And even there, I would still feel like a dou**e showing up with a $600 bag full of 4-6 BLX Six.One Pro Staff 90s and then start playing 3.5 level tennis.

Question of taste, no right and no wrong.
Some people like a man's den with deer heads all around, dark wood panelling, leather reclining chairs, the smell of cigar smoke, and plush carpet.
Other people like white smooth walls, colorful but sparse furniture, white bamboo hardwood flooring, a few slim tasteful plants, and wide windows to the countryside scenery.

If it's quality and lasts a long time it could be a good purchase - instead of buying a $100 bag every year and replacing it as it gets worn out

They could easily make a more economical version from heavy duty canvas ala FILSON and have a winner on their hands. It would be a heck of a lot more durable too. That bag would not last long getting pushed arouns on hardcourts, walking through gates, thrown in the car etc. etc. Leather scuff pretty easily. Heavy canvas would be the way to go. Leather is not real moisture friendly either.

Proper full grain leather lasts a lot longer in use than any woven fabric.

Yeah if you talking as thick as a horse saddle. Make a bag from that and it will wiegh 50 pounds. I highly doubt that is real leather anyways. It looks like fake to me. I have never seen real cow hide with a basketball texture. Maybe its ostrich LOL.

Regaurdless....$600. They wont sell very many. Then again they probably dont want to.

It looks nice though. Would be a nice gun case for an AK47 with a Romanian folder on it. Maybe a ruyger mini14

Shoe companies say the same but it is rarely true. I am sure its some sort of processed something though.

I think you should get one. Its only $600. You will be the coolest one on the court.

It does look very nice. If any of you get it I would protect it with something thick. Maybe mink oil. Then it would be waterproof as well.

Full grain probably on the darker brown parts,
the lighter tan looks like its been shaved & split.
(Had dealings with local tannery in past.)

Proper leather needs no big care regiment.
Use it normally & let it patina, dirt is easily wiped off with soapy water.
Might give it a feed if you can be bothered, only if its looking real dry.

I am really digging the 3 pack as its solid dark but.....half a grand....man thats rough.

    I cant do it.

It would almost be worth it to **** off the animal rights nutjobs though. Maybe hang a nice leather cigarette or cigar case off it somewhere.

    Haters gonna hate.

I love how the same people who are critical of looking like a ****** decide they wouldn't want this bag for the same reason of vanity, just from a different alignment. Too funny. This bag rocks. It will last you twenty years. You can probably try and negotiate with local tennis stores who have had them in inventory since their release.

The bag has a shoulder strap. You send a card that comes into wilson with your name on it too. They send you a second shoulder strap with your name engraved for free. It's awesome.
