Edberg won the final with the score of 6-3 4-6 12-10. The final set was played as a champions tie-break and Edberg saved a match point on 8-9.
I saw the final part of the match on tv

I did not see the match. But I met Borg (and Leconte and a lot of VIP's etc.)Tuesday morning. I played at the court next to him.......

Edberg and McEnroe were not there.

My partner and I watched the doubles Borg played with a "recreational player" like myself. He was quite cool and relaxed. Leconte, on the other hand, looked lazy and "french". But later in his match, he made the usual jokes.

A funny thing is, that Borg's strokes looked a little awkward to me. On both sides. Ha played with a new Wilson racket (kFactor).

I would say, that my strokes are "prettier" :) But maybe not quite as effective as his have been, though :)

I thought I was the only one who noticed that. Borg's strokes look like he had a STROKE. Near awkward. Not flowing and smooth. In the 70's though he was the BOMB.

Also, it was quite obvious he was out of shape. He started out well in both matches but was suffering at the end where he also dropped his lead.

At the end of the Leconte match he started dinking his serves (dinking being a relative term for these guys). Shoudler problems maybe?
