Been trying to get a good setup on my xv1. Tb/multi at 55 now, how would a full bed of black widow work? Thinking of going 55 all around.

To me, Black Widow is a quite lively poly, so it may not lessen the pop, compared to your regular setting.

What gauge TB do you use? Assuming you don't want a full-bed of your current TB , you might want to cross it with a thinner gauge TB or TB Soft.

Just replace multi with Gosen OGSM cross. It dampens pretty much any lively string, especially after 2-4 hours break-in. And provides smooth sliding surface for the poly mains, until it breaks (I mean, until poly breaks :) )

I think with black widow full bed you could dare to go down to about 50, it should be comparable to a multi polyester hybrid then but with more control without sacrificing too much comfort, and you probably will feel the magical effects of using polyester at lower tensions.
But one thing must bare in mind is that full polyester will no way last as long as a hybrid, and should restring after 15-8 hrs court time.

RIP Control 17 is a good string for this racquet. I know it doesn't answer the original question, but it's worth a try.

I'm stringing tomorrow, full bw. So is something like 52/50 where I should go?

I generally string my multi's at 55. When I go full poly I go down to 48lbs if that helps you at all. I play with MSV Hex soft in a full bed. BW is a very soft co-poly, I'd say even a bit softer than the MSV Hex soft, so 50 lbs should be fine.

Did full bw at 51. Loved it! Lost first round tourney at 6/4 6/4 but the xv1 was great. Some issues with touch and random goofy stuff but never had a chance to test/ warm up before the match. Great groundies out of this setup.
