Does any one know the weight of the fake leather grip on the Pro staff 95s.
Sorry if this had been answered

    Hi Oakland510,

TW lists the stock grip on the 95s as Wlison Sublime. (click on the specs tab) If that's the case, the leather colored version is only available on the racquet, while the white and black versions are available A la carte. Torres has noted his sublime grips were fairly inconsistent, ranging from 16g to 20.4g out of the box. We have one listing for sublime as 12g installed.

    Regards, J

    Thanks
Im thinking of switching to true leather grips but im a bit worried about the more jarring feel. Is this a reality or is the difference barely noticeable.
Im thinking about it for the weight bump and to counterbalance for lead in the hoop

In physics terms, any effect from the more solid feel of leather is counterbalanced by the greater weight. The more weight the less shock.

In terms of feel, it's probably individual. Personally, I don't find leather grips to be jarring at all, especially with a luxurious overgrip like Wilson Pro on top. I often use just two overgrips on bare handle. Still, no extra shock, from my point of view. The only downside is that two overgrips leave the bevels a little too sharp.

    Hi thin grip lovers.

    Pacific Smash grip.
    1.5mm thick
    18g untrimmed

Quite a firm feeling grip and quite tacky.

Sublime grips have to be one of the most cheaply made and terrible grips ever produced IMO. I immediately removed them from all my Steam 99S frames and trashed the Sublimes after weighing them. The lightest was 12 grams installed on my Steam 99S. Thankfully Volkl leather grips are $10 :)

I contacted Klipper about their leather grips, and I was told they're 1.48mm thick.

I'm going to try and scavenge one from an old racquet this weekend, I'll weigh and measure it and see what I get.

I just ordered some **** Artificial - is it good stuff? I like feeling the bevels, and I like Leather grips. But I'm looking for something like a hard babolot skin feel at the moment. Specifically, to lower the static weight on my POG 107.

    Klipper leather

So I scavenged some leather grips from my brother's old racquets, and this is what I've measured.

The black one was 1.32mm thick, did not weight it.
The tan one was 1.42mm thick, and weighed 24 grams installed.

    Hope this helps.

Just took off an old Wilson Pro Hybrid grip (black, gold lettered version) from my Wilson Pro Open 2011, the grip is leather with a synthetic coating and has been discontinued :(, it came in at 22g including the finishing tape.

Babolat leather grips have always been a favorite of mine, so naturally I was interested in their new black offering. Here are some measurements from 3 samples.

    Untrimmed weight (with backing tape):

    (1) 32.0 g
    (2) 33.0 g
    (3) 32.7 g

    Installed weight (Pure Drive L3):

    (1) 27.6 g
    (2) 27.5 g
    (3) 27.9 g

Thickness: a hair more than 1.4 mm on my caliper, very consistent across all three

It seems this new grip is both a touch thinner and a bit heavier than its predecessor and has a higher quality feel to it. On average I'd say it adds about 11 g over the stock Syntec Pro on a Pure Drive. Definitely recommended.

I noticed that there isn't any data on the installed weight of the Wilson leather grip. I recently pulled the stock Wilson leather grip off my RF97 grip size L2, and it weighed 22.3 grams.

By any chance does anyone know the trimmed weight on a Bab Woofer replacement grip? The site says .55oz/16g from the package. I assumed it being a comfort grip it'd be on the heavy side but am surprised- if its untrimmed is 16g where the trimmed falls.

I believe they claim 1.2mm. It's enough to reduce the thickness by almost a full size. With an overgrip on I believe it to be a hair thinner than a normal grip with no overgrip. Weight is 7g on my 8.5" long grip Graphite Longbody. A normal 7.5" grip would have it be around 6g. Grip and overgrip combined are 10g on mine, replacing an 18g standard grip.

    Wilson Featherthin: 7g installed on a 4 1/2" Graphite Longbody - 8.5" long grip.

    OEHMS premium leather grip, tan.

Specs (untrimmed, according to the company):

    Length: 118cm
    Width: 2,5cm breit
    Thickness: approx. 1,5mm
    Weight: 27g

I recently bought a few of these and randomly picked one to try out. Weight was spot on at 27.0g with backing tape. Installed weight on a Graphene XT Extreme Pro (TK82 pallet) is 21.9g, so it's a bit less than 8g heavier than the stock Hydrosorb Pro.

OEHMS claims that this grip is the same as the (not available at retail) Head Finest Calfskin grip. I do have various samples of the latter and the look and feel of both is, to me, exactly the same. Of course I can't verify the claim, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are indeed the same.

Hey Jack. This is one informative thread.. thanks.
To anyone out there, i was looking for a replacement grip that i wouldnt have to use an overgrip with. After some testing.. I really like the Babolat Skin Feel, in white. I specify white because the black gets too slippery when sweated on. The white seems to stay drier. Its a great grip. And lasts quite a while. Five stars.

Does anybody know how thick Tourna Tac and Tourna Mega Tac are? Are they thicker than the classic Tourna Grip? I currently use Signum Pro Magic, but while it's thick enough (0.75) it's not as tacky as I need it to be. Hope either Tac or Mega Tac are nearly as thick as the Signum Pro Magic.

Don't have actual measurements, but in my experience, Tourna Tac feels thinner than Tourna Grip due the amount of stretch you get out of it. The new Volkl Perforated Overgrips are on the thicker side.

I'm interested in the thickness and weight of Syntec Feel. I have (2) Pure Aero's (size 2) that have syntec pro but one feels larger than the other. I even stretched the replacement grip on the larger feeling one I can get them matched. I had to resort to installing a Skin Feel replacement grip. The size is good but it is not as cushioned. Hoping Syntec Feel would have the same thickness of Skin Feel but cushioning of Syntec Pro

I just decided I would like to try a synthetic grip that is lightweight and thin. What a fantastic resource this is. Thanks Chicago Jack. I think the Prince Resithin or Babolat Skin Feel fit my needs.

Thanks Christian. I'm definitely erring towards Skin Feel of the two. I might give leather a go too, with an overgrip. I demoed the RF97 and enjoyed the feel of the leather grip.
