My boy is playing his but off in Rotterdam. He beat Gonzo, Thomas Johansson, and Rainer Schuettler. Next he faces the winner of Henman and Federer. He has to go through very good players to win. I think Lleyton could go all the way.

Glad to here. Hewitt is my favorite player on the tour. I love his attitude and and the way he enjoys the fight when he plays. I hope by the end of the year he and a few others will put Federer in his place- around #5 in the world.

    L Hewitt can't hit hard?

From what I can see he whacks the ball, why do TV people pan him as a soft hitter?

Because he hits softer than his opponents. He hits it hard - but not by the standards of the ATP top 50.

Definitely a non-Hewitt fan/apologist here. May the manic one never reach No1.

Ok it's just my $0.02 about the professional sporting culture here in Australia - it's just so &*!$%. It seems that it is expected that sporting heroes are to reflect the lowest common denominator of aussie-ism? For example - call everyone 'mate', talk in dreadful monotonal & simplistic english, don a guernsey and eat meat pies and drink a stubbie at the footie?? It's just not cricket.

Er, if you watch Federer play you will (should) realize that he is rightfully the best player in the world. Hewitt is one of my favorite players too but as of late he is a little lacking!

That's exactly what I was thinking!

I'm a fan of Lleyton, too, but reanimating a 4 yr old thread ain't such a good idea...

EDIT: Who the hell looks at 4 yr old threds anyway?
